I have yet to choose my Unity Candle - where did you all get yours from ?

I understand that I can get my Hurricane lamps in Michaels or Walmarts anywhere else on-line spring to mind ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Fantasia Sam-
Have you check out this site for a Unity candle
http://bridalshop.freeservers.com/unity_candles/UC-beach.html
I figured since you are doing a sea shell nautical theme maybe you would want to keep your Untiy candle in the same theme.

This site also sells a sea shell Untiy candle
http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/store/trans/productDetailForm.asp?imgid=2233&cat=31

Here is another site that customizes Unity candles and has a nautical theme on there as well
http://www.katscandle.com/order_form1.html

However this site has sea shell unity taper holders that I love as well as a sea shell ring pillow or if you are not having someone bring you the rings they have a sea shell ring box that can be placed on the altar so that the priest may take them out of, and they also have a sea shell pen holder. I also love the flip flops that leave the imprint of just married in the sand as you walk. LOL!!! Here is the link
http://www.occasionsbylisa.com/sea_shells.htm

As you know I had a Cinderella and Prince on so I know you would not want to go with that theme.

Let me know what you think k!

I also have a unity candle question. I will be having an outdoor ceremony at Yacht club gazebo. I still want to do the unity candle ceremony or something like it, but I worry about wind and all of that. I think it would be horrible for the unity candle to blow out!LOL! Any suggestions?:wave2:

I may be going a little too far now but I found this site that makes custom bridal bouquets out of seashells and a couple of them are nice. Take a look http://www.seashellsinbloom.com/bouquets.htm.
This store is located only 20 miles from me as well so if you are at all intersted let me know and I can go check this stuff out for you.

Hey Fantasia Sam- You are totally gonna think Im nuts now but since I am going to be having a VR at the Yacht Club Gazebo and hopefully having the reception at Ariels if enough people come a nautical theme will be what I as well will be chosing so I found this dress. Tell me what you think. Its called Ocean

Am I going a little too far

inloveindisney good point however what you should do is buy one of those large huricane lamp covers to place around your center unity candle. The others dont need to be lit until it is time to lite the Unity candle.

Umm, what is a unity candle and what is it for?? Sorry never heard of them before.

OMG Ellie you are sooooo awesome and I insist that you call me just plain old Sam from now on :Pinkbounc

You know what though.......now I have to much choice LOL - and you've given me even more ideas for my favours and place card holders and now a ring box so I won't have to have the cushion as we don't want a ring bearer - you ARE so the BEST !!!!

Now can I just say I also LOVE that bodice - isn't it fab and sooooo great for the theme. LOL if I hadn't had my dress already that would have been so me but I have to say I think it would look tons better on you - I don't think you've gone too far at all.

Thanks for the thought on my bouquet I am already having shells put in the bouquets with hidden mickeys and the boutonnieres will be the flower coming out of a shell accent - I'm using Charming Events for my floral I really liked their stuff so decided to use them instead of Disney.

Invites I'll post a picture of them up once I know the guests so that you can see them but if you can't wait just email me ;)

Now my other nightmare is Tiara - I need to get this going - I've got this one designer working on one for me but I really don't think we're on the same page and I'm worried that it's going to look rubbish - so I'm starting to look elsewhere. That said I'm still not sure how I'm going to wear my hair but I'm pretty sure it will be up.

Ellie did you know that I will be in WDW from the 30th April are you there then ?

inloveindisney - Hurricane lamp is, I think, a must for the Gazebo just in case it is breezy - I think we will need them for the tapers as well as we want our 2 eldest nephews from both sides to come and light the tapers.

Lisa - I don't know the full story behind Unity candles but my understanding of them is that it's a way to Unite the bride and groom together from each family - but I'm sure that someone else can give you the more "romantic" sounding reasoning behind them.

Lisa:
The unity candle is considered a way of uniting the two families into the marriage. What happens is: while everyone is coming into the ceremony, the grooms mother (or family, however you would like) light a taper candle and the brides mother does the same. Then, toward the middle of the ceremony, the bride and groom pick up the taper candles(which correspond with their family) and light the middle candle together. It is supposed to something wonderful about lighting the flame of their marriage with the strength of their families combined or something of that sort. I am sure there is some romantic description of it, but for the most part, that is how it works. IT is nice to do, but not everyone does it.

Hi Sam,:teeth: Im glad you dont think Im nuts!!! My husband was working late last night and I was all done with my business work so off I went with my searching for nautical theme wedding stuff. LOL!! I'll tell you I was having so much fun!!!

LOL ellie what are you doing to me !?! Those Island Bride Tiaras and strings are awesome and at a price LOL :sigh: I'm gonna be so torn.

Thanks again ellie :)

Yup ellie you are soooo in trouble with my FH (S'OK I never gave him names ;))

All those links you showed me are fab and now I want to spend more $$$ on my jewelry and tiara etc and on my favours and on my Unity Candle. I broke the news to Paul last night that I needed a tincy wincy little more dosh to help me with this little lot :hyper: He then needed a large glass of water to help him over the shock :teeth: and ofcourse I blamed the other brides on the DIS ;)

Personally I think you're the best at helping me with all this :)

LOL Sam, you make me laugh.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE looking for wedding decorations ect. To be totally honest I kinda do it for a living kinda.
I have done already in the past 2 years about 30 weddings and about 100 baby showers birthdays and anniversay parties.
Its like this, I helped plan and decorate and do the entire research for my friends wedding about 2 years ago, and there were family and friends that loved what I did, so when they got married or had birthdays or even baby showers they called me to see if I could help them out. So I do and I absolutely love it. But I dont really have a business that totally caters to this.

Most of the time I get invited to stay at the party and other guest will ask me do you have a business card.  I tell them " Do you have a napkin and a pen and I'll give you my home number LOL!!!

Thank you for not telling your hubby on me I would hate for him to not like me. I just want to be sure your wedding is as magical and spectacular as can be but of coarse within reason.

By the way have you thought of a card box????

Now what exactly is a card box? I don't think we have them over here or if we do I haven't seen them.

That's sooo cool that you're able to decorate weddings and get involved in them and get some good referrals to boot - excellent and no wonder as IMHO you're excellent at this stuff.

Sam- A card box is a box that is decorated and set up on the wedding gift table this way in case your guest have card verses actual wedding gifts they may place the cards into the box and it keep them nice and safe:teeth: . If you dont have one I have an idea :earseek:
