United flight from purgatroy

In many of these cases, the lack of communication comes from lack of airline people onsite at the time. I have been in a couple of such incidents myself. Airlines could help themselves by defining the role of the chief steward to include onsite incident management, and coordination and pay a stipend for each day they are pressed into this role. They would stay in touch with the airline, coordinate local contacts and resources, and communicate with the passengers.

You know this argument for the military also makes UA look bad. If this is an Canadian Air Force base then one would assume their pilots sleep there, right?

SO why is it safe for the Candian military to stay there and then operate planes and other highly complex military equipment, but not a UA pilot?

(This had nothing to do with the pilot's sleep and EVERYTHING to do with the pilot's union LOL!)

I think you're purposely bring silly. FAs are responsible for the safety of passengers on the plane. Seems like a pretty important job to me.

This had ABSOULTELY nothing to do with the safety of the airplane and EVERYTHING to do with the union requirements. Having one or two FAs on a plane of this size act as "liaisons" would not have endangered the lives of ANYONE United's social media response was just stupid and as I said, why would it be safe for our military to stay in these barracks and operate complex equipment but NOT safe for a Flight Attendant??? LOL!
