Hello!

United has great prices right now for our trip dates. I have not own with them since all their incidents this year, the one that concerns me the most is that they flew unsafe planes. Would you fly United? Have you flown with them this year? Good experiences? Give me a piece of mind

Thanks!!!

I flew United a couple of years ago & was treated to an hour wait on the tarmac due to an issue with their food service delivery, which wasn't even for our flight...That said, if the price was much lower than other airlines, I'd go with it. No airline has fantastic customer service anymore, imo.

I may be biased because I have status but I pretty much solely fly United. I travel for business and always use United. Every airline has its problems but if the price is right I say go for it!

i flew United in March/April this year.

great flight and no issues.

no delays and arrived ahead of time into O'Hare in Chicago

Can you elaborate on the bolded? What incident are you talking about?

I've seen loads of incidents related to United Airlines this year, but none of them have been about mechanical safety issues.

I assume the great prices are a direct response to people going elsewhere in response to other issues the airline had encountered this year.

Might not be. They usually have the best rates for certain s routes I travel.

I've flown with them. The flights area always overbooked and the customer service is not great but they're not any worse than they ever were

We haven't had any more issues with United then any other airline. I flew United twice so far this year and will fly them at least twice next year as they are the only non stop option for a few planned trips.

Safety concerns always bother me, but United is not the first airline to be fined for safety issues and they wont be the last. Unfortunately buy the time we hear about such incidents they are usually several years old.

Customer service is an issue with a lot of airlines as well. I have had great customer service on Southwest, until the one time I didn't.

So, yes, at this point I would fly United if the price/flight was what I wanted or needed. I do have a few airlines that I wont fly because of past experiences but they are all budget airlines based in Asia.

I can't answer your question because:
A) I don't know what your region/hub is
B) don't know when you are traveling (time of year)

Still, I can push you in the right direction to these airline forums and blogs

They'll tell you about on-time records, safety ratings, give reviews by mostly frequent fliers as well as those who mange the sites, and lots of info and tips.

You can find more via google :).

I've only flown UA once and it was a long time back so the experience wouldn't be relevant to today.

DH and I each fly a lot and pretty much only fly Southwest and United, we have had small issues here and there, but nothing that would make me question my safety. My job used to require that I fly American Airlines for work, but after getting stranded multiple times due to planes being taken out of rotation due to maintenance issues, and at least one segment of a four segment round trip either being cancelled or delayed at least 4 hours, I refused to ever get on another American Airlines flight again, and have thankfully been able to avoid them for over 2 years now. That said, I know others that have no issue with American so it really is just a personal experience thing. I am flying United at least 4 times in September and have no concerns myself.

According to their website, United transported 143 million passengers last year. They serve 338 different airports across 50 different countries with over 88,000 employees. Probability says your United flights will be fine. Anything you see in the news is going to be an extreme outlier.

I've flown about 50,000 miles on UA so far this year - flying them again on Wednesday. No problems (admittedly, I clearly have high status with them so may be biased and/or treated differently - though many of my flights are economy).
