United Air questions

OK, so we have booked Jet Blue but they contacted me about seat reconfiguration on our flight and have offered a United Air flight down instead, first class for half the flight. So how is United Air? Do they have tv's? concerned about safety and how consistent they are with flights too. thanks.

United Airlines is the oldest commercial carrier in the US and the world's second largest airline (behind American). Why would anyone hesitate to fly them over JetBlue, especially if bumped to first class?

As to the tv question, you need to check what type of aircraft you will be flying. Go here and you can see if video will be available:

No doubt! You can't go wrong with United - especially in first class.

It is doubtful that you would have seat back entertainment except in some aircraft in first class.

Also, note that United focusses on business and not leisure customers. They have Economy Plus seating available to their premier members and at a cost to non-members. Upgrades only happen if one uses certifcates or miles, and can be difficult to obtain on some routes, even for 1K flyers (which leads me to ask how JetBlue can offer you a seat in United First?)

Like most airlines, schedules can and do change - it doesn't appear here as often with United as most United flyers are business travellers who book a few weeks or days or hours before the flight.

As to safety, I'm not going to comment other than to say that airline travel is the safest way to travel in North America.

I used to work for United and it's a great company. If it wasn't for all the weird hours we had to work, I'd still be there!
