Ok, at least I think it is unique. We are going in October and taking our oldest 3 kids--they will be ages 6-boy, 5-boy and 4-girl...I know we need to take a stroller. Single seat or double seat? It is only my husband and I (for adults) so I really don't want 2 strollers--just one. AND what is best? will an umbrella stroller hold up at all the parks? we are there 5 days. Thanks for any tips!!! I want to buy a used one so I hope to find something good out there!

We just spent 2 weeks at WDW with a 2yo and a 5yo. We took the Maclaren Triumph double stroller. Picked that one because it holds up to 55lbs per seat and my 5yo is 44lbs. Also, it folds up smaller than a jogging stroller. It did get heavy with both kids in it (2yo is about 30 lbs), but it did pretty well. They could get in and out easily (it's a side by side as opposed to a front/back stroller) and it held all of our "junk". It wasn't perfect, but it's worth checking into.

Hi, I have been to Disney a few times with my 2 kids, they are younger than yours, (2 and 4).

I would not go without a double. I think my son (4) would be okay, he ALWAYS wants to sit if his sister is sitting. So, it saves any arguments. So with 3 kids you can have 2 sit, and worst case, one has to sit on a lap....

They may also need to fall asleep and it is difficult to carry 3 kids while sleeping :)

I would recommend a side by side as they are WAY easier to get in/out of.

Drawbacks: you have to fold them up to get on a bus. They don't have asmuch storage underneath.

You CAN take them open, on the boats and monorail(as long as it is not too crowded)

I have borrowed one every time we have gone.
Happy Planning :)

I would say if you want to take a double dont get a new one if you wont use it regularly. Get a used one or rent one from an off site company. Its not worth the $125min for a double (well, some side by sides are cheaper but not by much) if you are only going to use it for a disney trip. Look at yardsales, ebay, craigslist, see if your town has a yardsale group online etc.

My ds's were 6 and 5 when we went in Feb and my 6yo got so tired he rode half the day at least. He is way too heavy to carry for a while, as is my 5yo. People would gasp in horror and call me a horrible parent for pushing my 6yo around but he was happy, we were happy, and everyone wasn't exhausted by the end of the day.

I got 2 used Maclaren volo's on craigslist a while ago and removed all the straps so it was just the seat. Much cheaper than renting a double and they have lasted 2 trips so far.

We stayed in a rental house this last trip with family and my 7yo nephew needed to be pushed after the first day. He is incredibly athletic and just hit the wall with exhaustion half way through the 2nd full day of walking. He rode in a cheap umbrella stroller and it was impossible to push.

I would go with a double. When the twins were little and their younger sister, there was never an empty seat. Sometimes, I wished we had a triple!!

I have 3 little ones (7, 6, 2) and we are taking a double "jogging" stroller in August. (I'm borrowing it from a friend).

I know my 2 year will need it, but I also know towards the end of a loooong day my 6 year old will want to ride too.

Have a great trip!!

Thanks for all of your replies! I will be looking at double strollers--we have a double Jeep stroller BUT it has no storage underneath....that is not good. I will look around. Thanks again!

Just be sure that whatever stroller you pick is easy to push when loaded with two kids and all the stuff you will be toting around with you. They ALL push fine when they are not loaded up with kids, so be sure to do a realistic test drive. You will be doing a lot of pushing and if you don't have a good stroller, you will be sore!
