Unique FP+ / Magic Band Question

OK, so we are staying offsite for a week next week, bought our tickets through UT, purchased Magic Bands and have everything linked and set up in MDE (and Fastpasses all selected). Now, it looks like we may be rolling into town a day early, and we are considering one night at a Disney resort. If we do that, the resort will have to give us MagicBands to access our room, right? What if I do not want to link them to my MDE account? Is there any way to refrain from linking them so I can use them for SDFP?

Also, if any Magic Bands would necessarily have to be linked to my MDE account, could I just say I do not want them at all and use a traditional room key?

But wouldn't the MDE system recognize my name and somehow tie the two accounts together?

You'll be using a new email address. Some people use their middle name for a new MDE. As long as you pay for the room correctly, you can be anyone you want on the reservation. You'll be fine - read ScrapYap's SDFP thread and all she recommends is a new email address.
