sooooo close to being done but I am looking for some unique stocking stuffer ideas. What are you doing this year that might be kind of unique or outside of the box?

This would be something for those who have cars and drive but a few years ago my mother-in-law got myself, my husband and my sister-in-law escape hammers for our vehicles. It has a point to break the glass windows and a cutting tool used to cut your seatbelt all in one piece shapped like a hammer. We thought that was unique.

May not be quite unique but for those who have electronic devices a small portable charger (that was on the cheaper side as far as money goes) was also given to us last year in the stocking.

Not sure what would be unique for younger ones as more information would need to be provided (age, gender, likes/dislikes, etc.)

Try Dollar Tree. Give yourself a little bit of time to walk around and look at everything. I've bought earbuds, selfie sticks, duct tape, small picture frames and a six pack of earplugs.

I did those escape hammers before...also car related is air pressure gauge, clip in air fresheners. I am getting the id black out security rollers this yr. have also done the purse hooks for the women. I am getting the add on microscope phone camera lens for my kids. Laser pens(green) have been a big hit. I put real mexican jumping beans in one year. Air horns for use at hockey games. The battery operated mixer wands ( not sure correct name) that the boys used for making chocolate milk and such.

Clean screen wipes for moniters and such...

I will have to see what else I can remember.

I did fun Ski socks, a facemask for my daughter, a little mini cologne for my son, $10 iTunes gift cards and miscellaneous candies that they like plus I usually grab a bag of Doritos or smart food popcorn and prop it against the stockings because that's what they like. When they were little the dollar store was the way to go, I also bought stuff at the dollar store for Santa to hand out Christmas Eve

Where did you get the Mexican jumping beans? I remember getting those when I was 3 or 4 and thought they were magic!

OP here, I am looking for older teens who are geeky and dont really fall into traditional categories therefore the need for "unique". I like the mexican jumping beans idea, it is soooo hard this year but I am probably trying too hard LOL!

For geeky teenagers and up I always recommend ThinkGeek. I'm pretty sure they only have one store so you'll have to order online, but they have a plethora of geeky, weird stuff.

Flying screaming monkeys, wooden or metal 3D brain teaser style puzzles, pirate ship crystal puzzle (thanks to poster here my teens are getting them, DD is getting castle), stress toys, silly coffee mug, or any kind of odd office toys. DS counts on me to find him an offbeat stuffer every year. This year is a metallic desk sculpture of music notes.

I search Amazon for odd gift, brain teaser, or gyroscope to get listings for different types of gifts.

Mexican jumping beans was online-amazon or ebay.. my boys thought they were really cool.

One more idea is pieces of meteorites, moon, mars rocks...that kind of thing. they are very tiny and not cheap but unique.

Think geek or jinx has great "geek" and video game stuff.

Have you looked at the blind bags they have at target? If they're geeky there's probably a ton there they would love-usually like little keychains or figurines that are collectible

So somethings totally random that I'm putting in my 9 yo ds's stocking this year..He loves canned spray cheese (which I refuse to normally purchase) and popcorn. So he's getting some bacon flavored popcorn and a can of spray cheese with his normal candy and movie gift cards.
My 13 yo ds is a Skittles nut so he's getting every kind of skittles I could find stuffed in his stocking.

Any weird foods your kids like that they don't get very often?

Flying screaming monkeys were a hit last year. I even got one for my Dad and he loves it - still plays with it. LOL

I've got a couple of different things in them this year.
My 17 year old asked for glow in the dark stars to put on the ceiling above her bed so I got some of those to put in her stocking as well as some new nail polish colors she doesn't have.

For my son, I bought juggling balls to put in his - he's 21 and has been juggling stuff lately so I thought he'd get a kick out of them. He also likes beef jerky so I bought him some different kinds from a booth at the Yellow Daisy Festival in September. Hopefully he likes them. My son was also talking about a long strip of LED lights that can change color and patterns. He wants one to put it behind his computer monitor at college. I'm thinking I'll look for that when I'm out and about tomorrow. It sounds like it would coil up and fit in a stocking.
