Hi! We are planning on going to Universal and probably staying at RPR in November. My friend received a mailer with a unique code for a discount that includes my dates. I called b/c I wasn't sure if it was tied to a name like at Disney and it is.

How do you get on a list for these mailers? She was there last year but didn't stay on site and doesn't even know how she got on. I would like to get on though!!

Some people get them if they signed up on the universalorlando.com boards. Some people get them if they have given their email address at universal vacations. Nobody really knows for sure.

Thank you for your reply! I couldn't find the boards that you wrote about...it came up that the page is extinct? Pls let me know if I am doing something wrong.

I am so burned up about the pin code..same way I get about Disney when they do it. She priced it for me and I would save about $300 over 3 nights. I really feel it should be a public thing and whoever books first, gets the discount. :(

there are always public discounts each year.
booking a room onsite that is at least a 3 night stay, gives great discounted rates.

for the first time since the hotels went up, i received my first code for 40% off the room rate 2 weeks back.
it's the luck of the draw to get a private code.
it is stated on them, non transferable.
only the person who is listed can book with that special code.
it's only fair.

of all the years to get it, i already have my reservation in place with a 35% discount by using this year's promo, SMSM.
i laughed when i saw it, unbelievable...........

not using the code this time around.
i already am using the ap for some nights and then the smsm for 8 nights.
i prepaid most of it so far and don't want to deal (with switching some of my nights stay due to black outs) for a small amount.

UO also gives room discounts if booking w/AAA.
discount amount varies depending on date of your stay.

Thanks for the info. The time of year I'm going is only 10% off for a 3 night stay and no AAA rates. It is right before Thanksgiving and the card she received is the only really great discount for my time period. Just kills me that she is going to have to throw it in the garbage b/c she can't go and I'm dying to use it!

Isn't that always the way though... you receive a great discount when you really don't need it!

i've been going to the darkside since 1993.
no hotels on site were up at that point though.

once they went up, i stopped staying offsite and only onsite.

this is the first time ever i have received a private code.

and i'm not using it..........

as i explained above...

i'll probably not get another code for the next 10 years but if the promos and ap rates stay consistant each year, not a problem...

i always do the motherland for about 8 nights before i move to the darkside resorts each trip.

doing disney since 1974 and yearly since '91.
for last year and this, finally got a pin code from them.
have no idea how i got them...........
i call it the luck of the draw.............:lmao:

My husband got a pin code mailed to us maybe 7-10 days ago. We have not been onsite for about 6 years. We were former AP holders 6 years ago.
In fact we weren't even thinking about Universal until the mailer came to us.

We then booked a Universal trip-- isn't that great marketing?

I also received a mailer with a pin code about 10 days ago. We haven't been in 4 years but had been annual pass holders in the past.

Changed our fall vacation plans and booked a trip. :)
