It would be bad to be in an unhappy marriage. I can tell you after being married for almost 20 years, there are ups and downs in every marriage and who ever says that there are not, they are lying or trying to fool themselves. A happy marriage takes a lot of work, love and respect but most of all you have to be totally committed and willing to communicate about everything. If one or the other "checks out" it makes it harder to work.

I hope that the unhappy marriage that you are talking about gets happy again soon.
