Unhappily upgraded?

I was so excited to find that I've been upgraded from a Cat 11 to a 9, but when I did some checking I found that my room, 2002, is one of the "noisy" ones. Is there anything I can do to see if I can have it changed? Should I? I don't want to appear ungrateful; I do think it's great to have the extra room/window/etc.
Any suggestions? What would you guys do?
Wendy

having a split bath and a window is so much better than a single bath with no view. Any cabin can be noisy depending on who is next door. Go with the flow and be thrilled you were upgraded. A whole lot of people paid much more that a cat. 11 to get the cat 9. You just got a christmas gift!! Enjoy it!

Hi,

The same thing just happened to me with the same exact room! We had rooms 2000-2004. Were were also upgraded from a cat 11 to 9. I called disney and they told me to call my travel agent to see if we could get moved. I did and they were able to keep my upgrade and I got moved to the middle of the ship! I would call whoever you booked it through. It never hurts to ask:chat:

I'd keep and be happy with the upgrade.....It's nice to have a porthole as it feels very small without one.....besides, a Cat 11 is much more than a Cat 9 so you're getting a great deal......Andy

Thanks for the positive input! I'm just grateful to be on the ship, so I'd be happy with anything. My DH, however, is a fireman and hardly ever gets a full night's sleep; I'd hate to have him disturbed on what I hope will be a relaxing cruise. Your comment, Ann, was a good one; I could ask to be moved and wind up next to noisy neighbors!
It's great hearing from upbeat people, thanks!

Gosh I feel bad for my poor neighbors here at home this past week with all the stress that is going on in my house.. you would think my DH and I were getting divorced.. nope just home improvement ( new sprinkler system that cost almost as much as my car that leaks everywhere... old faithfull is now in my back yard) work stress and health stress has made our normally quiet neighborhood quite loud of late. Enjoy your upgrade, you could even have noise in the walt suite.....

Wendybird63,
For our upcoming cruise we were upgraded to your exact cabin!!
I emailed Dave about the noise and he replied that he has it on the noisy list because of the mechanical noise we might hear. I did call DCL and requested the middle of the ship, but all category nines are booked!! I am not worrying because Ann is so right in saying you can have noise in any cabin! I have heard that connecting cabins are noisy, however on our last cruise our connecting cabin was perfect!! Have a great time!!!

Jiminy,
Will you be on the Western Magic 12/6?
We're the Western 11/22. I'll be able to tell you everything about the room. I read in another post that it was mostly "white noise" which wouldn't bother me at all, really.
You've been on another DC, haven't you? You really must have enjoyed it to go again!
Thanks for the input.
Wendy

Wendy,
Please let me know when you get back how it was! I would really appreciate it! We are on the 12/13 Eastern. Last year we went on a 4 night in October, and had the time of our lives!! You are in for a huge treat!!!!

I stayed in 2004, and the noise wasn't bad at all.. you hear a little mechanical noise, mainly when docking.. but I have heard it in other rooms as well.

We were moved from Deck 5 to Deck 7 - same type room but higher up. We'd rather be back on Deck 5. But we will have a great time regardless!

Our friend was in 2006. There were no other cat. 9's available. She paid for a cat.9. We heard her whine and complain that she was going to feel the ship cut through the water and she was going to be sick etc. etc. She loved the room so much that when she went to rebook and that room wasn't available she was so upset, we heard her again LOL

Enjoy your upgrade

Joanna

To be safe, I'd suggest packing ear plugs, just in case. :)
