Unexpected trip to the Fort!

I've been a little down thinking we wouldn't get to have a vacation this summer due to DS10's baseball schedule and a situation where DH works. DH came home yesterday fed up with waiting for the work situation to change and said let's go camping next week. Cool! We just have to get a new tire for the pup and we're off. Red Top Mtn? Unicoi? No- DH means camping at the Fort!!! Yay! I didn't think we would be able to go that far, but DH says he just has to be able to get back here in 24hrs if things go south at work. We were able to get a partial hookup site (could have had premium but don't want to pay that much) for next Wed through Sun!!!! DH called DS10's coach to let him know we will be missing next week's tournament and I rescheduled some appointments. I'm breaking out the camping list and the Disney box!

I bet I can guess where your DH works We are in the same boat. I still planned a few trips, but like you said, need to be home within 24hrs. Your lucky, I need to be back in 8hrs.

Yeah, DH has been really frustrated that it keeps dragging on. We're afraid it could go on until August and that would really be a mess. One of his employees left for Hawaii- she insisted she could get back to Atlanta in 24hrs. I hope she doesn't have to try, but I wish the situation were resolved!

On another note, I was able to reschedule appt. for DS10 to get his cast off on Mon. Let's hope that is it and he doesn't need another one (He broke his right thumb the week before Allstars started and has just been warming the bench). If he has to get another one it will have to be waterproof so he can enjoy the summer. He really wants to be able to play ball, though!

We will be there 6/4-6/11, but we are leaving Monday to spend a little time on the beach before we get there. I can't wait!
