We were planning a trip to Disney in December. I've been the one planning it and have been looking forward to it since our trip in 04. I just found out that I'm pregnant with our 3rd child! We're happy, but still in shock. Anyway, I'm due at the end of November, so there's no way I can make our December trip. I really wanted to do our baby's first haircut at Disney like we did with our first DD. She will be 18 months in December.

I don't want to put the trip off for too long, but I'm wondering how early we should take a new baby. I'm thinking it would be okay if he/she is a few months old because they sleep so much in the beginning. My extended family will be with us, so we'll have a lot of extra help.

Any advice?

There are always lots of threads about this on here...generally, the concensus is that you should do it! Lots of us have done it, and it went really well. I think it would be pretty hard on you to do it before the baby is 2 or 3 months old, though.

You might have your hands full with three little ones! Do you have extra adults coming, or is it just you and your hubby? If not, try bringing the grandparents or something. They'll love it, and you'll appreciate the help!

Congrats to you! We are thinking about trying to get preggie with our 3rd at the end of this year! Maybe you could reschedule your trip for spring next year. The baby would be about 5 months old in April. I think you would be ok then.

First Congrats!! The same thing happened to me! Our trip for the end of Sept, booked last Sept while we were there to get the free dining, had to be cancelled. I'm due Oct 17! We were thinking about going January or so after the baby. Our DD will be 4 then. But I couldn't wait, so we're going in May this year. One last short trip with a family of 3. :-) I won't be able to do any of the "good" rides, but oh, well.

My mom always says, "Babies are portable." She took us everywhere as babies, and she's right. The smaller they are, the easier. As an infant, they pretty much sleep all day. My sister took my niece at 4mths and loved it.

congrats, I would go ahead with my plans if I were in your shoes, but I never keep my little ones home either. I hope you figure it out, good luck

I was just thinking...what about going while you are still preggers? Just move the trip up?

Congratulations! When we were planning our first trip with our sons we were planning to go in April of 04 - but then we found out DW was pregnant. We had already told the boys about the trip, and didn't want to disappoint them - plus we wanted to have a special "last hurrah" for them with the family as they knew it (there are 5 yrs between our 2nd and 3rd) - we decided to move the trip up a few months. We ended up going down on NYD 04 and stayed for 10 days. She was still within that "ok to travel on a plane window" - and the doc was fully aware of what we were doing. Even she gave her blessing to go and have fun. DW just took it slower than we normally do - lots of bench resting, etc. and no super long days. Having the blessing of 10 days helped. We got 5 day tix, and then made sure to have down days in between park days. On the "down" days, we spent lots of time at the pools, boating, or at the hotel playground. (It was her choice, with no persuasion on my part - honest!) She still talks fondly of that trip.

Congrats!

Could you move the trip up and possibly go sooner?

There are some great rates in September.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago! Congratulations!! We ended up rescheduling our trip for when my son would have been 5 months old, but for work-related reasons ended up having to reschedule. We went when he was 10 mos. old and it was a wonderful trip!

Have a great trip, whenever you end up scheduling for!! :goodvibes
