I had two nights of a three-night stay booked at BWV standard view, and have been waitlisted for the third (March 29). I called today to go ahead and book a preferred for March 29, figuring I could move if my waitlist didn't come through.

On a whim I asked if there were any Grand Villas at OKW available March 29 - April 1. There was and so I switched over to OKW. The price of a Grand Villa really isn't much more than a BW preferred 2BR. This will be my first time at OKW.

I expect that I'm going to miss not being in the thick of things, but I am looking forward to having a lot of space and being able to really cook a meal and so forth.

Anyway, I was really surprised to be able to book this within the 7-month window, particularly during Spring Break. So we're going to be staying in a Grand Villa for three nights, then on to Vero Beach for two nights, then home. My thinking is that we'll allow each of the children to invite a friend, and now we'll have plenty of space.

Congrats! You are going to LOVE the OKW GV!

As for not being in the thick of things, we actually love that. It's so nice to come back to your villa at the end of a hectic day and just relax. OKW is such a great place to unwind and recharge.

Hope you have a great stay!

I think that you are going to LOVE staying at OKW, especially in a GV!!! WOW!!

As for not being in the thick of things, the quiet is actually a nice change of pace and you are only a short boat trip away from DTD!!

I have been quite lucky booking high demand rooms within the 7 month window during spring break. I got a week at BCV in a studio the week of Easter (booking 2 months out). When I expressed suprise to the Member Services rep, she said that many members avoid the two weeks around Easter due to the much higher points requirements.

You'll love the space at OKW in the GV, but the cooking part.... We much prefer the kitchens of the 1-2 bedroom units there. The GV kitchen is arranged in an odd way with the sink close to the corner where the counter meets the stove. It's cramped if someone wants to be cleaning up while someone else is at the stove. It's definitely a "one butt" kitchen! Not bad if you can keep everyone else on the other side of the island though! I LOVE the full sized fridge at OKW compared to the other resorts, and the full sized washer and dryer more than make up for the inadequacy of the kitchen arrangement.
