We planned our trip for Nov. 11-18 not realizing that MVMCP starts on Nov. 13th! This wasn't meant to be a Christmas trip; we just wanted to go a little later this year for a bit cooler weather than mid-Sept. was last year.

So, my question: How much does the Christmas vibe come in during the day at MK, and will all the decorations be up during the day? I'm not a scrooge, but this was just meant to be a late vacation not a "holiday" trip. Thanks for any info!

Decorations will be up throughout all of Disney- they start putting them up the first week in November. They may not have quite as many as in December but they will be visible all thoughout the MK and will end up in many of the pictures you take unloess you work really hard not too, they will also be up through each of the other parks and if you are staying on property they will be up and your resort and the Christmas tree will be out at it. January and Febuary are good months for cooler weather if you don't want decorations up.

I was there the first week of November in '05. It was a great time to go! Great weather, low crowds. I had no idea they'd be decorating so early. There weren't too, too many and I didn't think the decorations were overwhelming, but then again I don't think all of them were up yet.

All of them aren't up until Thanksgiving. The day after is when the festivities officially start (in respect to the tree lighting, CP, etc).

During the time you plan to be there, you'll see some. Not all, but some.

We're leaving two days before they go up . . . we asked when we booked when they'd be decorating for the same reason, we want to see the park again without christmas decorations. Had the SWEETEST CM on the phone (Joan? JoAnne? Can't remember) and she was all excited that the parks would be magically transformed for the 13th. "Okay, we'll depart on the 11th!" She was quiet for just a second and then busted out laughing, and i explained that I'd already seen it for Christmas and had actually had trouble hitting a "normal" park time in the past and wanted to be sure to see it this trip. :lmao:

so my understanding is yes, they are all going up on the 13th.
