unfortunately my husband was laid off last week.
We applied on-line for Illinois unemployment. I understand he has to wait a week before they will begin providing benefits.
I know he has to provide documentation of submitting at least 5 applications per week. What happens if he is offered a job now that won't start until March 15th...does he still get to collect unemployment while he waits for his start date? If so, does he still have to submit weekly applications to other prospective employers?
