UnDISCOVERed Future World tour???

Anyone that has done this tour, I would appreciate some input. From what I have read, we are very interested in taking the tour but would like to hear more.

Also, some have said that at the end of the tour they are given an 'invitation' to view ILLUMINATIONS from a VIP area in Italy. Can others confirm? And, if so, must that invitation be used on the night of the tour or can it be used later in the week?

DW and I went on this a few years ago and really loved it. We had a great guide and enjoyed hearing all about FW. We really are huge Disney trivia buffs!
We were given a "walk-on" ticket to ride TT (this was in the days before M:S and before Soarin') and also a pass to view Illuminations from the VIP area in Italy.
Thing is, the park was EMPTY. I mean E-M-P-T-Y. So when Illuminations time came, there was no VIP area, as almost every area was VIP. Can't remember where we stopped (want to say UK?) but I know that there was hardly anyone around us.
If you like Trivia and want to see behind the scenes of Epcot (my fave park) then definitely take the tour.

You can read my review of the tour at http://allearsnet.com/btp/tour_fw8.htm. As noted in my review, we were given the option of using the VIP viewing area (which is immediately to the right of the bridge as you face the lagoon) for Illuminations on a different night.

I took the tour solo last fall and it was really fun! There was a total of 3 of us on the tour and we were offered the VIP viewing in Italy, but they other couple had Fantasmic plans for the night and I was going to already be seeing Illuminations from the UK side for a dessert party so I passed it up. However, the CM offered to let us reschedule and put us on for antoher night if we would like so the other couple did that and I just declined the offer.

Do you have any specific questions about the tour? You get to see a lot of great things and we even rode Figment on our tour!

We did this last fall. We had a great time with this tour. Our tour guide was Anthony. He was great. Real fun. We got to see the backstage/inside area of Spaceship Earth. That was great. Got to go backstage to some of the rides, like Mission space and Test Track. Got to go to employee areas of Journey Into Imagination. Also went backstage to see the IllumiNations barges, and the "backside" of World Showcase. It was wierd. Didn't take away the magic, but I appreciate it more. We got to see the "wardrobe" for Epcot. Let me say... WOW.. lol Got to spend some one on one time with a cast member from Germany. We were able to ask him questions about the program and learn about "Mickey Mouse Visa's". lol We were given a percentage off our meal for lunch at 99 Dragons. Then we went to the roped off area (in front of the Italy pavilion) for the viewing of Illuminations. As the show progressed on they took down the rope and let the crowd move inward to us. It was great. I say do it!
