Underwhelmed with the Clearance this year

Maybe it's just a local thing but I can't seem to find anything good in the after Christmas clearance sections this year. Haven't found a single toy for daughter and the decor was very limited even on the morning of the 26th.

Anybody else noticed this in your area?

I agree. I always get my cards and wrapping paper after christmas and I wasn't thrilled by any of the selection. Maybe they became wise and ordered less this year!

Its a sign that retailers are running with leaner inventories to avoid having to deeply discount too much stuff after the holidays.

I've noticed that trend over the past few years...now if I see something I know I'll need, I'll buy it and not wait for the 'after holiday' sales because in most cases, the stores are out of stock before the holiday even arrives.

Agree with above: retailers ordered less inventory to begin with, and many had sales before Christmas. Fortunately, I have enough wrapping paper, gift bags, tags, and bows to last me for years! I bought lots at Sam's Club 2 years ago after Christmas and still have tons left!

I have Christmas paper left from after Christmas 90% off clearance from like 6 years ago.....I have rolls I haven't even opened yet. lol I found some super cute bags and tags at Target for 70% off but that's about it, nothing else really appealed to me to buy it. Which is OK with me because I don't need to spend the money on it.

I didn't see much this year either. Fortunately I still have plenty of wrapping paper left over from years past.

Me too. I think stores just didn't order as much inventory. I also noticed stores putting things 50% off before Christmas.

I checked out my stash and I think I'm mostly ok for another year but next year I'll have to restock some things.

Totally agree! I usually start Christmas shopping for next year, and this year I only bought DS one set of legos. Sad really...
