Could someone tell me what the disposable underwater camera costs on the Wonder? We are going to be snorkeling at Castaway Cay and want to take some pictures. Information will be greatly appreciated. ::MinnieMo

Please don't take this the wrong way, but probably more than you would pay for it at Wal-Mart. I have seen them at Wal-Mart in the $6-$8 price range. Unless there isn't enough room in your luggage I guess you could wait until your on board.

Also wanted to say thanks, because this was one item that I haven't thought of for our DCL trip.

On the wonder they are approx $30 for the disposable underwater camera.

You can get the exact same thing at walmart for arojnd $8, so pick one up before you go. I had bought one, forgot it, so I had to pay the $30 anyway. Pics came out great though..lol.

Wow thats crazy...I would pack one for sure instead of buying it!!

Remember that if you purchase a disposable camera before the trip you MUST put it in a carryon back. The newer airport screening machines used on check backs will usually ruin film.

This IS NOT the case with the machines used on carryon luggage.

good tips...I plan on doing some snorkeling on our upcoming cruise....this will be perfect...

We bought a disposable underwater camera at Target for $9 before our cruise on the Magic - I think it had 27 exposures (FUJI Film). I forgot about the screening issues and packed it in our bags instead of the carry-on. We went ahead and used it on our snorkeling excursion and then had it developed on the ship to be sure that it hadn't been ruined - luckily it was fine.

We also bought an underwater camera on the Magic and paid $20 for it. Obviously you are going to pay a premium for anything you purchase on the ship, so try not to do it unless you have to.

On the film issue, x ray scanners at the airport will only damage high speed film. Most of you film will be fine, the exception are these underwater cameras. They are generally high speed (ISO 800) to capture plenty of light in a dim setting (underwater), so they need to be handchecked. Just keep them handy and pass them to the security person for checking, every time I've done it the workers know about it and take it around the scanners.

Thank you all for the wonderful information! :cheer2: We will buy one at Walmart for $8,and put it in our carry on luggage. 16 more days and we are off to :sunny: .
