Underwater Camera?

I bought it from Gear Best. There is a code somewhere to get it for $104. It takes 2 weeks to get. No VAT on it either. For $50, I could easily wait 2 weeks. I had no rush need for it. I'd put it up against a GoPro directly to see the comparisons.
Awesome!

This is the one I was thinking of getting :) have read great reviews ... What are your thoughts on using it indoors ? My concern is low light ...
Thanks!!!
In good indoor light it's generally pretty good. I have to look at my low light pictures to be sure but I know it has a setting for either indoor or low light. I feel like its one of those your mileage may vary. I have pictures in low light that came out great but also some that were subpar.

I would love a GoPro but I hate the fish eye perspective of them.
My Git2 Pro has a setting to change it from ultrawide field of view to normal. Ultrawide is about 170* which causes the fisheye effect. I am not sure of the angle for the normal mode, but it did eliminate the fisheye as you can see in the video I posted earlier.

That's good to know! I've been wanting one for a while, and even borrowed one from the library to play with it, but I couldn't get it to look normal so I gave up on it. Now I'll have to revisit it. Thanks!

I just broke down and bought another camera. Not because I do not like and enjoy the Git2, simply because I fell into a deal I could not pass up. I bought the Olympus Tough TG-4. It was the international version from Japan which means I do not have a warranty. However, it came with $60 worth of extras, memory card, brand new, and $100 less than the US version. It was more a Father's Day gift to myself. Now, I will have all my bases covered for vacations. DSLR for the high quality, dry photos, Olympus TG-4 when I don't want to lug the DSLR around and for underwater photos/videos, and the Git2 for anything and everything. I sitll like the Git2 and think it is incredible for $100.

Gopro! Amazing quality of video and wide lens for those family selfies underwater snorkelling! And then you can take stills from the video or your can even just take pictures.

Ditto that, I go ours at Target with my redcard and saved a bit too. :)

We got the Nikon Coolpix S33 for our daughter for exactly that purpose. It works great. Easy to use. Separate buttons for photos and video. Both great quality.

I've had my eye on this camera with our fall cruise in mind, so this info is really helpful -- thanks!

I posted earlier that I bought the Olympus as well. We used it in the pool on a recent trip to Atlanta and we love it! Great underwater pics and videos! image.jpeg

Thanks OP!! Now I ended up buying a GeekPro camera for our trip in October. I had been meaning to look into them and this put me over the edge. My wife may not agree with this being a good thing. :)

I bought a GeekPro equivalent and the video quality is excellent. Since I will never be able to compare it to a GoPro, there will never be anything missing. Video comparisons online show these to be as good or better than a GoPro, plus keep $100s in your pocket.

I have a GoPro i used last year and loved it. Used the GoPro software that they give you for free to make a cruise video of out trip. You can goto www.youtube.com and search for name johnbaringer56 and see the videos I have shot and edited with the GoPro 4 Silver.

Today Sam's Club has a deal on the
FUJIFILM FinePix XP90
http://www.samsclub.com/sams/fuji-xp90-dig-cam-16-4-mp-5x-zoom/prod20091354.ip?searchTerm=null

It is on sale for $79.00 with free shipping online only. In the club it will cost $149. I got one on order today for upcoming trip this year.

Pictures are great but video really brings a trip to life. Just finished my cruise video shot on a GoPro3+ with LCD backpack. Edited with movie maker. Maybe 2 cell phone pics from boarding in there too. I use a float handle mostly and needed a wrist mount for the aquaduck.

We used our GeekPro last weekend in the pool and I am very happy with the quality of the build and videos. I felt more comfortable letting my 8 yr old use it as well since it didn't cost me $350. I have to admit that there is a bit of a lack of instruction but I eventually figured things out which is well worth the 1/4th the GoPro price I paid. :sunny:

I have a Fuji FinePix XP80 which was about $140 I think. It works wonderfully. We have used it in the ocean and at pools for action shots and underwater pics. Plus it takes great above water pictures.

We have the same camera and love it! We have taken it on several vacations and had lots of underwater and regular pictures. All great quality.

I have the Git2 which is great for its uses. Excellent video quality and something you don't worry about kids using. I do have to do a side by side comparison of the Git2 and the Olympus TG-4 to compare the video quality. Initially, the Olympus is better simply because of the larger screen size. I need to see them on the computer. If I did not get such a deal on the Olympus, I would have probably bought the Fuji when it was on sale for $79. They have had great reviews as well.

I just scored Coolpix S32 gently used on Ebay for $100 and free shipping. Excited to try it out!
