Understanding - Booking BOG?

We have not been to Disney for many, many years and have never used Fast Pass before. We are on the Dining Plan.

We would like to try BOG for lunch. I believe it is a Quick Service for lunch.

I am able to reserve my dining in 9 days, finally after a lot of planning.

I want to understand about booking BOG.

IF a reservation is available for the date and time I want on Make a Reservation, I can reserve. This is a reservation for time and date like any other dining reservation.

IF no date & time available, I can try to get a Fast Pass for BOG. If I understand correct, Fast Pass is only a Pass to get you into a faster line to get into the restaurant instead of waiting in the regular wait line for the restaurant. Fast Pass is only to wait in line for the next available table.

Help me to understand about reserving this restaurant.

There are no regular dining reservations for the BOG QS lunch. You either do it with a FP from a special link (I don't have it, sorry) or else you wait in line.

If you want to eat a TS dinner at BOG, you can reserve that like a normal dining reservation.

BOG is QS at lunch, TS at dinner.

ADRs can be made for dinner only - and yes, these are like any other ADR.

BoG FP is for lunch only. We used FP for lunch this past April. We didn't really wait very long to order our food. Very happy that we did not have to wait in the stand-by line. We would have skipped BoG if that were the case since we had two impatient children with us for that trip.

Something is going on with FP Lunch right now, it stopped opening windows to order and reserve this past Tuesday, normally opening up a day or two every day, they seemed to have stopped on July 7, so we are waiting to see if they are changing the procedure....I needed July 8, very frustrating.

It's exactly the same as dinner, except no waiter takes your order (and the menu is different). You order from kiosks, find a table, and someone will bring your food to your table.

We waited ... maybe 20 minutes for lunch on our last trip. It was hot in the sun, but they brought out water for people to have while they waited. I think they also circulated umbrellas (maybe they're parasols if there's no rain? ) for the people waiting. Ordering was easy and the food came fairly quickly. I have heard plenty of reviews of the place, some good, some bad. Our food was just ok. We would not go back. We had quiche, French onion soup, croque monsieurs and the grey stuff cupcake. I think my daughter and husband would eat the sandwiches again, but they wouldn't go out of their way for them. The quiche was dry and flavorless, the French onion soup, while not dry, was certainly flavorless, and the grey stuff cupcake tasted kind of ... supermarket-y.

If you are dying to see the castle, there is no problem with waiting in line. It wasn't my favorite part of the trip, but it wasn't really a huge hassle.

From your signature it looks like you are going in August - is that when you want the BOG FP+? If so, it is not booked up, August isn't even released yet, As Momof2Singers posted above, it is only currently open through July 7th.

braised pork was fantastic! best meal of the trip and much more like a TS meal than a CS one.

I also loved the braised pork. Definitely worth waiting in line for.
