Understanding 7:00 a.m. Magic Morning

We will be staying at the PPH Thanksgiving Weekend and will have Magic Mornings on both Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 AM. Yikes that's early! I just want to make sure that I understand the logistics, so we don't wake up earlier than necessary.

I was thinking that we'd leave the hotel by 6:20. Does security open at 6:30?

Under what circumstances does Main Street open 1 hour before the park opens? I find it hard to imagine the park opening before 7:00. But let me know!

In theory security opens at 6:30 or so. But when we went for a 7 AM MM (June 2009, mind you) security didn't open until about 6:50. We were about the third party in line and didn't reach the gates until 6:54 AM. So you could have a lot of waiting in security if you get there at 6:30. Still, being at the front of the security line is still the best way to get to the gates. But I'm not sure I'd personally arrive at 6:30 again (we did it then because it was my birthday...I was the first person to ride Peter Pan Flight that day!).

Main Street doesn't open an hour before Magic Morning. Sometimes it opens before the official park opening times (and sometimes it doesn't). I'm not sure that it opens an hour early but at any rate I don't THINK it will open an hour before park opening in your case because it would get confusing trying to figure out who gets to go on through to Tomorrowland/Fantasyland and who has to wait. Maybe 30 minutes early, so they can rope off a space for the latecomers to Magic Morning?

Same situation here. We'll have 2 MMs but only one 7 am MM. Can't decide how early to arrive from the GCV.

We arrived right at 7 and had very little line for MM; rushed right into Nemo and had a 5 min wait. I know allot of fans go earlier and wait; but 7 is already pushing it for my fam.

To be safe plan to be there 15 minutes early, 6:45.

Usually of course not always. In either case does it really matter? You will spend the same amount of time waiting.

I think you are confused about this. It never opens an hour early. It is open when guests are let into the park. It doesn't make a difference if it's a MM day, a rope drop or gates open at the regular time. The only this that opens extra early is the Plaza Inn for Minnie and Friends breakfast on non MM days.

Mainstreet stays open to allow for shopping and snacks, an extra hour at night. The only exception to this is when DL closes for special events like private parties.
