i always buy my park tickets direct from Disney. For the first time, I decided to purchase them from UT. I just completed my purchase and received an email that I have to provide a picture of my valid ID in order to complete the purchase. They are closed so I cannot call to verify this is legitimate. Has this every happened to anyone who purchase tickets through UT?

I have purchased from them on 4 occasions (3x Disney and 1x Universal) and have never had to provide ID. Most recently I purchased in September.

That's weird. I just bought e-tickets to WDW and paper to Universal from them. I didn't have show no stinkin' badges:) Maybe they mean if you are going to pick them up in person, you have to show ID then. I always do e-tickets or mail.

I did do e-tickets. The email heading say "Please respond-order security verification." In the email it is asking for a valid government I'd such as driver license or passport. It is asking to upload a photo.
I think this is very odd and i will call them in the morning. I do not like the idea of having a picture my drivers license out there somewhere.

I am not comfortable with the idea and have never read on here about anyone having to do so

I had to do this last summer. It depends on the size of the transaction. Since these tickets are like cash they want to make sure the credit card isn't stolen once the amount of the purchase gets past some threshold.

I purchased tickets just a couple months ago and was not asked to verify ID. About 20 mins after the purchase I received my e-tickets. I would definitely wait and give them a call when they are open.

Possibly but its just for 2 adult 4 day park hoppers so it's not a crazy amount of money. I will call them tomorrow.

I know that I didn't have to do that.

We ordered 3 adult 6 day hoppers. However, I have ordered from UT 2 previous times, but this was the first time I did e-tickets. Definitely talk to them tomorrow.

I am 99% sure that I have read of this before. It doesn't happen every time, but it does happen sometimes.

As someone who recently lost her wallet, I'm glad when companies try to verify that the correct person is using a CC. While I wouldn't have any liability for it, the company would, and the company might end up having to forfeit the money if they sold the ticket but it wasn't the actual CC-holder using the CC. So I'm glad they are protecting themselves as well.

Just call in the morning.

Ah, are you having them sent to a different address than your CC is billed to? Like sending them to work instead of home? From their FAQ...

Can I order and pay for tickets on my credit card, but have them mailed to another person, name and/or address?
Yes. However, you may be contacted by Undercover Tourist ticketing to verify the information regarding your ticket order.

They are e-tickets so they were being sent to my email.

I'm trying to remember the scenario but something along those lines happened to me last year. But it was more of my ticket was fine but they wanted to see ID for my husband. All I remember is that I called and they straightened it out so I never ended up having to send them ID.

I did just speak with UT and they were very helpful. Apparently my address in is NJ but the IP address for my wifi is Connecticut so it was a red flag to prevent credit card theft. Now that I know why I do appreciate the safety check as I have had my credit card number stolen too many times. They completed my purchase and I did not have to send my ID.

Doesn't that make you feel better? isn't that great? yes annoying last night but I love the extra security check! (said the lady who has had her cc information stolen way too many times)

It's a pain sometimes but I really appreciate companies taking extra precautions like this.

Thumbs up for UT!
