Undercover Tourist ticket question

It looks like you can change the date, but to add dates to your ticket you cannot do that in advance of your trip and thus no FP’s. I also talked to an agent at Disney (through chat online) and said I have to go through UT. So I guess I’ll see if I can get a refund from them and buy a new ticket.

Please post more when you get an answer from UT.

I definitely will. My trip is also in early May so right now I’m figuring out my options. I know UT is slammed trying to help people with immediate travel plans so I will just sit tight for a bit.

Does anyone know if an e ticket has an expiration date? I bought e ticket from UT to use in April but looking like will need to pick new dates. I would like to go next year April or May but didn't know if ticket would be good until then.
Yes, e-tickets have an expiration date. Typically that date is based on the start date you chose, or 12/31/2020 if you have the "flexible dates" option. However, if your tickets are during the closure period, I believe WDW is automatically extending them good through 12/15/2020.

If you want to use the tickets for next year, you can "upgrade" and receive credit for the WDW online value of your current ticket (closed dates). You should be able to do this in MDE once next year's tickets are available.

Enjoy your vacation!

I have hard tickets and am within my 90 day window for a refund. Does anyone know the procedure for getting a refund for hard tickets? Do I need to contact customer service before mailing them back?

So, if I have eight day tickets that goes June 7 - 18, then I can move those to another date range using MDE and then schedule FPs? Your problem with no FPs comes in that you are trying to add two days to three day tickets? Just trying to get this all straight in my head. I am hoping the parks are open, but for all I know my senior will have a delayed graduation. TIA.

Yes, that’s my understanding from what UT told me when I bought the tickets and also from looking myself in MDE.

If I do the upgrade, will I be able to get the new upgraded before the 60 day FP window?

Yes, you should be able to change the dates through MDE. The only reason you might want to wait is if your new dates cost more. IF WDW is still closed in May, your tickets will most likely automatically convert to an open-start date with an expiration of 12/15/2020 -- at least that's what they've done for the current closure. If your new dates are in the fall, you won't need to book FP+ until sometime this summer, which should give you time to know if WDW will extend your current tickets.

Our tickets were for the end of March so they have been extended to Dec. 15. This is the notice that was put in the app about our tickets. So, it sounds like for me, I can add days after March 25th because that is the first date our tickets. We will be able to add fastpasses for our extra days that we plan on adding. Sounds like, though, as someone stated before, under regular circumstances maybe you can’t add days until you actually get there???

That was true, but people have been adding days/upgrading tickets via MDE for several months. How anything is working at the moment - who knows. But I think you’ll be able to add the days if you have a little buffer of time to wait out the current craziness.

Enjoy your vacation!

I have a question about using tickets at a later date, if I paid for 9 day ticket but my next vacation later this year can only be 7 days, can undercover tourist give me a credit for the difference?

Don't take this as fact, but from what I've been hearing, UT is being extremely flexible. Their official policy is that they will allow you to use your park passes any time through 12/15 regardless of any date limitations on your passes. However, I'm also hearing that people are receiving full refunds. Our trip is scheduled for 4/18 - 4/25, which is the spring break for public schools in our state. My wife works in the school system, my son will be away on a service project all summer then starts college in the fall. So the April school break is the only week we can go between now and 12/15. So I'm banking on the fact that, if the parks don't re-open for our April trip, we'll receive a full refund from UT.

"Normally," No.
But, during this unprecedented time of WDW closures, it may very well be that they would make a special accomodation.

As of right now UT is only providing refunds to those that purchased hard tickets. E-tickets are non-refundable per their contract with Disney. They have posted on FB that they are trying to work with Disney to see if anything can be done.

I bought tickets through Boardwalk Ticketing, which I found through the Touring Plans ticket calculator. I have already linked the tickets to MDE. If we have to cancel because the park is still closed, would I be able to use the tickets at a later date, just like tickets purchased through UT? The Boardwalk Ticketing website is not at all helpful and I don't see a way to contact them so I'm getting worried.

If WDW remains closed for your dates, the use window will automatically be extended to 12/15/2020 by WDW. That is for any valid WDW theme park tickets during the closure, regardless of where purchased. If you are not able to go before mid-December, your tickets will retain their value to use as a credit towards future tickets (2021 or beyond).

Enjoy your vacation!
