Undercover Tourist Question

Hi everyone. It's getting to be that time to buy park tickets for my April trip. I'm trying to decide whether to get them from Undercover Tourist or direct from Disney. I usually like to buy direct from the source, but I'm really tempted by the refund policy of UT. I've done enough research to feel comfortable that they are legit. What I'm wondering is how easy it is to link tickets, secure park reservations and scan into the park using a third party. Can you share your experience using Undercover Tourist? Did you find it easy to use or did you run into problems? Thanks for the help.

It’s very easy. After you buy the tickets, you will get an email from them with the tickets. At this point, your best option is to go into the Disneyland app on your phone, and either scan the bar code, or type in the code for each ticket.
at that point your tickets are now in the Disney system and can be used like tickets purchased directly. You will need to make reservations as well On the app or Disneyland website.

I ran into no problems using this method.

I too am considering them. One question I have (and I have emailed them to confirm) and I might as well ask here, is about the refund policy. It states that if the tickets are used in part then they cannot be refunded. I assume that doesn’t mean if I use them to reserve a park or link them into the app, right? I assume that means that if I have like a 5 day pass and I use 1 day, I can’t get a refund for the other 4?

Have used UCT several times for both WDW and DLR tickets and have never had problems. Easy to link tickets and have never had problem at the gates.

One WDW visit when there was an issue with tickets for part of our party and MDE, UCT customer service was wonderful in helping get the issue resolved.

I had a very easy time using UCT for our recent trip. I got the email and had our tickets linked within 15 minutes of purchase and was able to easily make park reservations right after. Saved $22 per person, $66 total, which was worth it to me to cover one or two quick meals at the park.

Yeah I have to wonder what the cons would be of using UT? Discounted tickets from a Disney authorized seller, and I believe they even sponsor this site?

Just ordered my tickets from Undercover Tourist. So excited. Thanks so much for the help, everyone! Follow-up question; it says to go to the gate and they will scan from my phone or from copy of the ticket order. Once I scan in the first time, do I get a hard ticket to carry around or do I have to scan my copy every time? Thanks.

With DL tickets, I have to select a date correct? We aren't going until July but can I buy tickets on UT and wait to select our dates in July?

I know when we buy WDW tickets, they are date based and I have to select our dates when we buy. This seems different for DL on their website, but I know that I still need to have park pass reservations at DL.

I just chatted with the travel agent that was kind of helping me and he essentially said that they get the tickets through the DL site, and basically said I had things covered, lol. So I guess I’ll be booking through UT :). I just need to figure out my travel insurance stuff first (all inclusive cancellation and medical). I have to get it within 72 hours of booking things. Not sure if that means I have to book everything at once or if I can add to it days later.

Once you scan in the first time a paper/cardstock ticket will be generated and handed to you by the CM. From that point forward you can use the physical ticket or the app to scan in.

Correct. If you buy direct through DL, you must reserve dates when purchasing the tickets. When you buy from a third party like UT, you make reservations/select dates later at your convenience.

Another fan of UCT. I’ve bought our DL tickets through then about half a dozen times. I get the email from them almost immediately after purchase. Then it’s super easy to add the tickets in the app, and head straight to the turnstiles on our first morning. As others have stated they will then give you a paper ticket, but I personally just continue to use the app to scan into the parks.

I also have experience with getting a refund from them. We purchased 3 day parkhoppers in February 2020 and obviously we all know what happened the next month. I held onto the tickets until August 2020 (6 months) in the hope that DL might re-open. When it became obvious that wasn’t going to happen I reached out to UCT via email and they were prompt to offer a refund minus a $75 fee. They told me if I purchased new tickets within a year they would credit the $75 back to me on the new tickets. There customer service was very quick to reply and always helpful. It did take about 4 weeks for the refund to process, but that may have been due to the timing and Covid related issues in 2020.

I personally feel very confident in their service.

I love UT, and I'm so glad we can now openly talk about them here. I've never had any issues with them. A couple times I haven't received my emailed tickets within 24 hours, but a 45 second phone call resolved that both times. I purchased DL tickets in November 2019, planning on using them in 2020. In January 2021, when I was exhausted from waiting for DL to open, I asked for my tickets to be refunded, so I could buy WDW tickets. I had my money back within a week, with no fees.

They also have killer prices on rental cars when you make a ticket purchase through them.

I bought Disney tickets online from them on Wednesday. My order still says "processing". Customer service is not picking up the phone, and is not responding to chat. I have sent two emails to customer service as recommend in the voice mail message. I know they are busy with the recent Disney ticket price increases, but should I be concerned?

That is really unusual, but I wouldn't be concerned, they will make it right. I would try to call again tomorrow during business hours. My sil purchased tickets yesterday, and got them immediately.

I’m a little concerned because there isn’t even a pending charge on my Amex. I would like to get this fixed, but customer service is not reachable or responding. Very frustrating.

I should note that I was attempting to call/chat during normal business hours. I am worried now about reaching them if I have a problem with the tickets at the park after they are linked.

Did you get a confirmation email?
