Now there is a pending charge. I tried chat and it said they were busy and to email. I called the after hours emergency number and the mailbox is full. Not good.

How frustrating, I hope you don't need your tickets immediately. It's just so strange, I've always had my calls answered quickly by an actual human. I wonder if the delay has anything to do with cc processing? Last year, I bought about 3k in tickets, and they had to split the transaction to get it to process. I hope you hear from them soon!!
I've used UT for all my recent trips (last 5 years). I haven't had an issue. I know that if you buy less than 3 park days, there is usually no difference in the price.
As for the issue with customer service, I have always made contact with someone, but I know people are extremely busy and they may not have the full staff.
Here's my update! I remained on chat even though it was suggested that I email instead. Once a UT agent connected she was able to release the tickets. I asked what the holdup was, and she said the request was initially rejected by Disney for an undetermined reason (I assume someone didn't resend the request until the agent did during the chat). The whole process from clicking the chat button to getting it resolved took about 12 minutes.
The Will Call number on the ticket brought up the ticket in MDE, I was able to link it to the correct member of my party, and I just made my Park Reservations. Phew! So happy ending. I would just suggest to anyone trying to reach them now to use the chat function. Ignore the suggestion to leave the chat and email them - just stay on the chat until an agent joins the chat.
Used means scanned into a park, thus activating a ticket. Making a reservation with a linked ticket does not active the ticket. I refunded a linked UCT ticket with reservations a few weeks ago with no problem.
This may seem like a silly question, but did you also have a resort reservation? My travel agent's company can only provide refunds if tickets are bundled with resort reservations, and not if tickets alone are purchased. Just want to make sure this is not also true of UCT before I buy.
