After doing some research on this site I am confident that UT is the cheapest place to purchase our tickets. My question is there a benefit to actual tickets that they mail to you over e-tickets? I would prefer not to do electronic tickets but am open to it if there is some kind of advantage to them. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have MagicBands linked to your MDX Profiles, you will only need to link the e-tickets’ confirmation numbers to your MDX account and use MBs to enter the park and FP lines.

Without MBs, you’ll need the plastic tickets to enter the park and FP lines.

It's my understanding that e-tickets are non-refundable, but paper tickets are refundable (-5% fee) until you link them to MDX, or scratch off or sign them. I've ordered the paper tickets when my plans were a bit uncertain for this reason. In my opinion, the only advantage to e-tickets is that you can get them quicker (almost immediately) and occasionally I've seen small discounts for e-tickets.

When we contacted UT last month, they told us the e-tickets expire at the end of 2019. They said the regular ticket expired the end of this year because the were still selling old stock.

I ordered the hard tickets for our son and grandsons. I wanted a backup just in case something went wrong with the MB.

I like e-tickets because I stress about paper tickets getting lost in the mail. I also like the fact that the e-tickets arrived in my email immediately.

I got plastic tickets when I ordered because our plans weren’t concrete and I wanted the ability to get most of my money back, but I wanted to get tickets prior to the price increase.

That is ONLY the case if the ticket that YOU buy HAPPENS to be available from "old stock."
That would only be the case on certain kinds of tickets.
As the sell out of certain tickets, they would start selling "new stock" (current) plastic tickets.
