hi, my DH bought tickets on undercover tourist for the first time for Universal. He got a message saying they put a small charge on the card and that he had to let them know what the amount was in American!
Is this normal? DH went on-line to see the charge but it wasn't there yet!
Anyone else experience this?
Thanks

I'm interested in the answer to this question. I was planning on buying tickets today or tomorrow also. I have never purchased from undercovertourist.
I'll be using a US funds credit card. Did you use CDN funds card?

That’s strange. I bought years ago and they charged my credit card normally.

I have bought from them a couple of times - most recently last week. They put a hold on your credit card for a small amount (under $3 I believe) if they believe it may be a fraudulent charge and will send you an email about it. All you have to do is check your online banking to see that charge (assuming your online banking shows charges that are on hold but not processed to your credit card). Once you have the amount, you click the link in the email from Undercover Tourist and put in the amount on the page it takes you too and that verifies your purchase. That amount is released and the full purchase goes through. Like I said, I've had this happen twice and no issues at all. Actually kind glad they are verifying it to ensure it isn't fraudulent. They were amazing with their customer service last time I bought tickets through them and phone in a panic when my mother in law forgot to pack them and got to the airport without them and there was no way to get the tickets before the flight left.

(Both times I've used my USD BMO Mastercard.)

Yes, this was posted here about a year ago when they started doing this. Apparently they have been hit by a fair bit of fraud, and are looking for a less impactful way of proving you are the legitimate card holder. If the have VBV (verified by Visa) or Paypal, they may not need that process if you are worried.

With one of my banks when I look at my charges on my card there is button to "show unprocessed transactions" or similar wording. Others just have it at the top, and well identified. All of my banks tend to show this almost immediately.

Hi, yes we used our Canadian MC. The frustrating part is we Checked the MC statement on-line and there is no charge yet! Will get my DH to try going on-line again tonight. I just got my bill and of course the charge is too new to be on that statement

DH emailed them to tell them we haven't seen the charge yet but we got the same email back as a response. I hope the prices don't' go up before I get this resolved!

Problem is the charge isn't showing up! I'm getting worried the price will go up before I get it resolved. It is good that they check but not so good for us trying to prove it's a real change ! LOL

The charge won't show like a regular charge. You need to find the option that let you see the charges on hold, the unprocessed charges. Maybe call your bank or cc support line to ask them how?

I would just call the number on the back of your credit card and explain that you have a pending charge from Undercover Tourist and that you need to know the amount so they can process your transaction. They will either be able to give you the amount or confirm there isn't one. If there isn't I'd call the 1-800 number for Undercover Tourist and talk to someone rather that doing it via email.

Thanks, DH called the bank and got them to tell him the charge. After he emailed Undercover back with the amount and the tickets were released and then our card was charged. Not sure if this is a scotia bank problem but we now have tickets! Now I just need to book our last 4 hotel days!

Thanks, DH had to call the bank but thankfully we now have our tickets!

What's the great deal Universal tickets?

I'm using the link from the MouseSavers monthly newsletter which gives an additional discount over and above the sites usual prices.
For example the 2 day park to park with 1 day free cost $254 including taxes and no additional fees.

Not bad. I'd love to find a good deal on 4 day or 5 day, park to park for all 3 parks.

Did it end up working out ok and did you get your confirmation email?

I bought 4 day 3 park Universal tickets last week through Undercover Tourist and they were a better price than both Universal directly and CAA. I saved about $35 total on 3 tickets. They have 5 day tickets too.

With the MouseSavers link the 5 Day Park to Park ticket with Volcano pay is $345.12 adult ticket and $334.46 child ticket. This price includes taxes.
If you are not yet subscribing to MouseSavers, you can subscribe now and get the Feb newsletter on Feb 15th.

figures. I paid 263 for the same thing!

Thanks for the replies.

Travelzoo (including tax) has:
Adult 3-Park, 4-Day Park-to-Park Pass for $315.65
Child 3-Park, 4-Day Park-to-Park Pass for $307
Adult 2-Park, 4-Day Park-to-Park Pass for $277.13
Child 2-Park, 4-Day Park-to-Park Pass for $267.50

Seems legit, but not as well known at UT. I'd prefer 5 days, so not ready to bite yet.
I've used Travelzoo for other things, they are a legit company
