Um with all due respect you are in this context. You are saying that Canada, Michigan and Punta Cana should all be the same (consistent) in regards to their drinking age (because if that age was at least 20 your daughter would have been able to drink at all 3 places) but that means that the way one of those places is doing it wrong if they aren't the same as the others.

You have different countries involved with different cultures. I mean for reals you have different laws in different states here in the U.S. and even different laws in different cities within one state. To say that all should be the same means if places are doing it whichever way is opposite of the way you want it to be they are wrong (sorry to repeat myself here).

It's the word (in)consistent in this context. Each place you listed doesn't HAVE to have the same laws and ,to use your wording, be consistent.

Wow..just wow. Advocating breaking the law? How old are your kids? Mine is 33 and she has been carded at the Epcot restaurants. Maybe not prosecuted , but risk being asked to leave the parks. They have been cracking down at F&W with more security especially on the weekends.

To the OP...hope you have a great trip and keep in mind that this is Fl and the laws are different here.

Nope not judging or fear mongering. I thought your post was "silly given the context". There are consequences if caught breaking a law...common sense...period. The OP now knows the law and it's up to her. People telling her it's ok to break the law is being irresponsible....IMHO.

Every single person that has accused people of "fear mongering" in this thread needs to get out their dictionary. They're using it wrong....possibly the term they meant to use was "over exaggerating". And even THAT isn't the case here IMO. Lots of facts were given and some want to see pitchforks. Weird.

IMO even more silly, more judgmental and "over exaggerated" sense of risks / possible implications. The kid is 19 years old with parents in a restaurant at Disney. This is so unbelievably low down the enforcement priority list particularly given the much more real risks and issues happening literally everywhere throughout the US.

Thank you. I, too, can read definitions on the Internet. My point is some see "deliberate fear tactics" where the rest of us see an explanation on a particular law that can be misunderstood explained in full to the OP (you know...the person who asked and not the "public"). The use of the term "fear mongering" in this situation IS exaggeration. And let me ask...what do you believe any of our "desired outcome" is? Do you really think we have a personal agenda for this perfect stranger that asked if something would get her in trouble at Disney World?

Last reply to you...You take that particular POV because in your country you can drink legally at 19 and minors can drink at home w/ parents. That is not the law here and you don't know what the risks/possible implications are. There have been CM posting their stories of the "risks/implications" having first hand knowledge. No where have I judged the OP. No, this is not a first world problem, but it is the LAW in Fl....period. Go grab a cold one and chill out.

So.... I guess you weren't quite done but no problem, I love to exchange views with others, especially to provide perspectives to help counter those that are unnecessarily judgmental and scare mongering. Basically I kind of like judging those who judge which also then makes me judgmental I know but I digress.

I have a very good understanding of risk and liabilities in US which is why I have posted my views. Oh and I'm actually quite chill already as I have been drinking this whole time so I don't need to grab a cold one. How about you?

Sorry, I wasn't doubting that you could read definitions but I was just pointing out that you didn't in this case (and still haven't)

The former CM who I have seen commenting on these boards stated they worked at DW in Pleasure Island, which was nothing but a bar and did have bigger crackdowns on underage drinking.

Epcot International Food and Wine food kiosks serves alcohol as do the restaurants, beer carts, and frozen Margarita cart. You had to be 21 to enter PI bars at night, you don't at Epcot. I guess the best way to find out if they crack down on underage drinkers is to ask security when you enter the park. I'll ask when I'm there.

Edit...from that former CM you mentioned.."I have also watched CM's during Food & Wine while I was at WDW as a guest come in and check for ID's for a situation where a beverage was handed off to another guest. It was a blatant straw purchase for an underager, I was watching it too, and apparently so was a CM. They got questioned, escorted away, and beverage dumped.
