Restaurant Report Posted

Friday September 3
Revised our drive down because of Frances. Arrived to a dead lobby of PC at 3PM. CM's seemed shocked to see us arrive. Maybe the airport was already closed-not sure. Driving south on I-95 there were stretches where we did not pass or get passed by another car for 25+ miles. It was kind of spooky heading south with all the northbound traffic being bumper to bumper. Upon check-in, found out that the decision was already made to close Saturday. We were put in the 70's section, 3rd floor overlooking the Twister game near the Goofy fountain. Since
Saturday was going to be a bust we drove to Poly for dinner at Ohana. Place was dead, only about 8 kids for the coconut race. Toured the deserted grounds afterward and rode a lap on the monorail for DS. Went back to PC and had dessert.

Saturday September 4
A beautiful day, no Frances yet. Toured PC, went swimming pretty early in the day. CM's had all the lounge chairs packed up but people were getting them back out. Inside lobby they had games, coloring, towels animals and other stuff for the kids. Food court was a madhouse all day. They announced that the food court would be closed at 4PM, and then it really became a madhouse. A band of rain and wind came through about then but was over soon. The steady rain and wind didn't start until early Sunday morning. Met Mickey in the lobby Saturday, not sure how DS would act-he loved him.

Sunday September 5
Frances not bad. Seemed like a NE Ohio thunderstorm without the thunder, but it lasted for about 6 hours. TV choices were slim for DS. "The Rookie" over and over. Local channels were covering Frances 24/7. Finally about 3PM everyone (including us) started venturing out on the balconies/walkways. Food court opened at 4PM, with hot food ready at 5PM. We went down for dinner even though it was to be busy for a change of scenery for DS. After dinner we let him run loose with other children in the waiting area off the lobby and in the lobby itself. No kids games or activities today. DS did meet Minnie, Tigger, Pluto & Mickey again.

Monday September 6
Only Epcot & MK open today, and at 10AM instead of 9AM. Arrived via bus at 9:45 to a lengthy line for security and threatening skies. Just at 10, it started pouring and slowly we started being checked through security. Our line was crawling compared to the others, we noticed one CM security just about doing nothing at the table they use. Finally as we were almost to the front she announced form two lines on each side of the table and she then started checking bags herself instead of merely watching the other CM do it alone. Since it had started pouring we hustled to SE. Walked on. Still raining afterwards so we went to Innoventions West. DS enjoyed some computer programs for toddlers and then we noticed it had quit raining. Thought DS would like Living Seas, went there next. He was getting tired already and wanted to be held inside Living Seas. So we buzzed through quickly. The Nemo section inside is done pretty good. I thought it was interesting that clownfish stay within 1 meter of their home their lifetime. We thought he might fall asleep on the Living w/the Land ride so we headed there next. He was as close to be asleep as you could be when we got off. DW took him and sat in quiet spot while I checked out Garden Grill for lunch. We had no PS, but it did not matter, I heard the CM tell someone else that they almost no PS's for the day. Normally by lunchtime we are in WS, but the 10AM opening had us "off kilter". After lunch the weather was breaking. No more rain the rest of the day, wind had died down making it muggy. Walked the WS clockwise. DS played on the boat in Norway. I've never been up there before. I thought it was some sort of playground. There is nothing up there, just a boat deck-kind of lame. While making our way around DS napped again in the stroller. We watched the drummers in Japan and the CM let us wheel napping DS in his stroller inside the theatre for Impressions de France. Next stopped to hear a couple of songs by "Off Kilter". The lead singer was especially funny telling the crowd they could probably play anything today and we'd like it, for we were cooped up for 2 days. We then went back over to FW and rode JIYIw/F and sent out a crazy photo to family. Backtracked to the Land to see the Circle of Life movie. Never seen it before, not bad. We decided we wanted to see more live WS performances so headed back to WS, this time counterclockwise. We caught from the start (1st time) the WS Players-A Live Comedy Show in the UK, watched the Statue Act in Italy. I almost got DS to go up by himself, but DW took him up and he got his ballcap turned around. He in turn gave the statue a high five-who gave him back a thumbs up. Backtracked a little to Japan to watch the candy artist. Then were on time to see a 6:15 show of the acrobats in China. Got to China at 6:17, no acrobats or sign of them. Kind of bummed us out. Didn't think it could be the weather, by now the wind was gone and it was muggy. We were looking for a breeze. Headed to TT, couldn't believe the single line at 20 min. and the FP was not being used. We've done it plenty before so we skipped it. DW walked on MS no wait. She enjoyed it, but was glad we hadn't eaten dinner yet. Ate dinner at Electric Umbrella and DS enjoyed seeing the fountain while eating even though it wasn't doing any of it's "shows". By then it was shortly after 7:30. Didn't realize Innoventions East & West had closed at 7PM. So we just browsed the Mousegear then headed out.

Glad to hear that your DS enjoyed the characters at his age! Keeps me hopeful that our kids won't be scared of them. Great report.
