Unactivated DVC annual pass and NSSHP tickets question

We have non-activated annual passes bought with the DVC discount on our account as well as NSSHP party tickets. We don't want to activate the passes until December. (Plans changed and we're doing a party and 3 night cruise in october, so no regular park days).

Do I need to do anything special to ensure that, on the Halloween party day, the party tickets are used and the AP aren't accidentally activated? Or am I safe because we're supposed to have to go to guest services and show our blue cards before the AP will work?

For the parties (MNSSHP & MVMCP), they set up a specially marked party entrance that will ONLY accept party tickets for admission.

As for the AP, yes you still need to stop at either a Park Ticket Window or Guest Relations Location to activate it before it will be valid for park entry.
