I'm flying American Airlines and on the site it says that under 15 years old you are considered an Unaccompanied Minor. I'm 14 and my dad bought a regular ticket and flying Unaccompanied Minor isn't a big priority.

So, I was wondering if anybody has flown American Airlines and if they made you exchange your ticket for an Unaccompanied Minor ticket when they saw your ID?:confused3

I have no experience flying as an unaccompanied minor but I did find this on American's website.

"Passengers 12 through 17 years of age may travel independently. Unaccompanied Minor service can also be purchased as an option for passengers 12 through 17 (subject to the same charges and provisions)."

It seems the choice is up to you and you should have no problems.

Safe travels!

Oh okay, thanks so much! My mom was really worried.
