Unable to Reach Disney on Area Code 407

I have not been able to get through to any Disney phone number (area code 407) since about 2pm this afternoon. I keep getting a recording that says, "all circuits are busy" and "please try again later". Did a Google search. Apparently this problem has happened before. It's not related to the wireless carrier, but rather to Disney's phone service, according to the commentary I read.
Anyone else ever experienced this? Very frustrating.

Wow. Didn't realize that. I don't know why Disney doesn't upgrade its phone system. It's absurd to not be able to reach them all day long!!!

Same here. Unfortunately it has also jammed my reservations on MDE and I can't access them to make my final payment. Luckily it's not due until tomorrow and maybe it will be fixed by then. Anyone else having a problem with the website?

Wow. Didn't realize that. I don't know why Disney doesn't upgrade its phone system. It's absurd to not be able to reach them all day long!!!

Probably for the same reason radio stations don't upgrade their phone systems simply because the lines get slammed every time there's a call-in contest for concert tickets. WDW has determined they have sufficient phone lines to handle all calls most of the year. Not cost effective to multiply number of lines for periodic overwhelming of existing lines.

It isn't the phone system it's the call volume on this particular day. They could add more lines but then they'd need more operators to man them (plus cost of training them) and that would be only for one day. After this one day they'd have to take the lines out and let the operators go (wouldn't need that capacity the rest of the year so why pay for it). That would not be at all cost effective.

The first day of a FD promotion will always have massive over volume of calls and some will get through and many won't.

My main problem is the inability to access my reservations online to make a payment. On another thread someone mentioned using Google Chrome incognito. I tried it and it worked!
Not sure if that will help anyone else but it's worth a try if you are trying to access MDE on the website.
