Unable to partake of FastPass+

I second the suggestion to try to talk to one of the MDE web support people if you can. They were able to help me with a different ticket issue easily on the first try. Also, I was able to link partially-used no-expiration tickets from 2008 to MDE - not as old as yours, but still old, non-RFID tickets. It's worth trying to talk to different people at Disney to see if someone has deeper knowledge of the issue.

And, worst-case scenario, you exchange your tickets for RFID media and at that point can link them and make FP+ reservations for the remainder of your trip - not ideal, and not what you would have expected, but still better than the current day-visitor procedure. Our May trip will have two of my family members upgrading unused 1-day tickets, so I am currently only able to make one day of FP+ reservations for them, and I hope there will be availability for me to copy my week's worth of FP+ over to them after they upgrade on our first day. My perspective is I'm still ahead of the days when I was running all over the parks hoping that the paper fastpasses I pulled would have return times that fit our touring plans.

To the OP, Assuming your WP is for water park. If so, those older tickets (WP) cannot be linked at this time. In the future yes, right now, no.

I have 2008 partially-used no expiration tickets that I was able to add to MDE that were originally 10-day MYW with WPF&M. Other than the date of the OP's tickets, they would have had similar entitlements to mine.

I just want to say I linked comp tickets and Christmas party tickets in Dec. Then we got the military tickets. Went to guest services in DTD. They said comp tickets can not be linked. Well they were. Said Christmas party tickets cant be linked. Well they were. I just did them so I could get fastpass. They cave me different tickets, but I got to keep all my FP+ selections. I am sure or at least hope things are better, but never take no for an answer. Keep trying.

Yours started out as MYW tickets. That part can be linked.

We took a last minute trip the week of NYE, and I will tell you, that in spite of the crowds and the resorts being nearly sold out, we made FP+ for every day of our trip once we got there, and it worked great, so don't give up if you don't get it done before you go!

If you have a bar code or QR on the tickets, and you have, or have access to, a smartphone, there is an option in the MDE app to take a picture and the app scans in from the code. That's the only way I was able to get my 2011 tickets linked.

Try scanning it with your phone - I had a Park hopper plus - it only has 3 days left on it but I was able to scan it with my phone to the ap - I couldn't get it to take online with the ticket number - but scanning it linked it right up

Back in October, my mom and I took a trip. I was able to link my ticket in advance but not hers. I went ahead and booked FP+ for me and then when we got to WDW and exchanged her ticket for a linkable one, I was able to just copy my FP+ selections to her. I believe you said the friends you are traveling with will have the ability to book FP in advance. Maybe you can use the same technique I did?

They didn't start adding barcodes to tickets until much more recently - certainly not in 2006.

I just received a call from Disney, as I had sent them an e-mail (per the agent's suggestion) explaining my problem and how unhappy I was about it. I ended my e-mail with the following: "It would be my utmost wish that you would respond with communication telling me not to worry…that you will figure something out, after all you are Disney -- the most magical place on earth."

Well, the guy was so nice and said how sorry he was about the situation. He acknowledged that they don't have a mass solution to this problem as of yet, but for those individuals who contact them, they try to work with them to find a solution. (I told him I wondered why I couldn't just FedEx my tickets to them and handle it that way, but he said they wouldn't encourage that as they would be inundated with ticket issues like this and couldn't handle that kind of workload, so that's why he said they go on an individual basis.)

He's going to convert my tickets, and link them to my MDE (and he's even going to take care of changing my DS' ticket from a child to an adult...something I knew I'd have to do when I arrived, but he brought it up and said he could take care of it).

Needless to say, I am over-the-moon happy with Disney's treatment of my problem, and I'm so glad I can stop being disgruntled with Disney!!

Thank you for all of your replies. :flower3: I was going to give the Disney techs another call later this week (as you all suggested) and see if I had any better luck, but now I don't have to!

Disney's still Disney! :cool1::banana::wizard:
