We are here this time with DD and DGGD. We are in a HA BW view 1 bedroom and they are in a non-HA BW view 1 bedroom. I requested high floor for them and instead they got 2051, the corner room that I think should not be BW view because it faces Village Green and has a huge tree blocking the view of the BW and Illuminations. This is the 3rd time we have brought guests who have been assigned this room. I was so disappointed but learned that this room was assigned to put them next to us, even though we did not have "travel with" on file. So I guess I should be praising the room assigner for trying to be helpful.
I know it is hard to believe, but in 50+ trips we have never really had rain to deal with except maybe a brief shower. I guess that is partly because we don't do WDW in the summer. This trip we did have rain and I was worried, but I learned that rain forced us to take a more leisurely pace with our guests. This was a good thing! I also got to enjoy the huge solid wall balcony that my DH, in his scooter, can't see over. The balcony is covered so I could relish the warm rain after a cold, long winter in MN. I also learned to check the Cocoa Beach forecast. One day when WDW had rain all day, Cocoa Beach didn't get rain until mid-afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed it until the love bugs appeared. Another thing learned. We've never dealt with love bugs. They are not fun.
I have not done late night at MK for years. We decided to try it in order to take advantage of shorter standby lines and a less crowded second Mainstreet Parade. Not. The MK was packed! I can see where late nights might be great in summer to avoid the sun but the crushing crowds were not good for DH in a scooter.
We haven't done Photopass for a while but decided to do Memory Maker this time. I was unsure of whether having 2 rooms would make 1 Memory Maker purchase an electronic mess. Not to worry, no problems whatsoever. All ride, character meal and theme park photos from all 4 of our Magic Bands have loaded without a hitch, even when we have been in separate parks. The $150 cost has been worth it.
I have learned a great use for multiple Magic Bands! (I will post this info on a separate thread also.) Several times DH's health issues have forced him to not go to a park. I learned that DD and DGGD could use the FastPasses assigned to DH and me when I gave them a pair of our extra Magic Bands! This was true EVEN WHEN DH AND I HAD NOT USED MAGIC BANDS TO ENTER THE PARK!
I guess you can teach this old dog new tricks!
