Ummm... Yea... Stitch attraction is bad.

The shouldner harnesses hurt (had to go word for word from Robo ^) They really hurt me. But I'm 6' and extremely overweight.

Not that you sound like you ever want to ride again, but YOU (any guest) can simply PUSH the harness up and away from your shoulders. (Most guests assume that the harmnesses lock, or that they (the guests) might damage the equipment if they push it up.)

ALSO: If you raise your shoulders way up high in the seat... at the time the harnesses first come down,
they will stop at a height that (once you slouch down) won't touch you.

Again, if at any time you think the harness is too "heavy" or hurts (or anything else)
just put both hands on it and PUSH it up and off of your shoulders.

(It's a safety feature.)

No, I didn't know that!! I may stick a rolled up sock in either shoulder -- like a make shift shoulder pad -- to help with that.

My memory is hazy and it's been since 2009.

I thought I tried to lift up and couldn't. And I thought part of the constriction was on my chest not on my shoulders.

But, I will give this a try for sure! (And if I can, put those socks on my shoulders.)

Thanks, Robo!

I finally went on it on my third trip after being scared away by Disboard posts. Stitch is my absolute favorite character. I did not think it was that bad. I did not think it was "sitting in the dark and people scream and then it's over". I do think the restraints are a bit more than they need to be. No kids were terrified while I was on it, and I only barely, barely could smell the chili burp.

I'll ride it again.

I love Stitch! The last few trips I avoided Stitch because the first time I rode it it was dumb and you just sat in the dark. Then my last trip my daughter really wanted to ride it, so I went on it, reluctantly. I actually got a working seat this time that I could smell the smell and also get sprayed with water. I also didn't let the bars press too hard into my shoulders this time. It was actually enjoyable and made me giggle. We then went on it again, and some guy was playing with his phone the whole time in the pitch dark, so it was hard to not focus on his glowing face. That wasn't as fun.

Overall, it's not as fun as the bigger rides, but it's in the A/C and entertaining.

Really? What were the typical complaints for AE?
I hate Stitch and I was ambivalent about AE. I liked it, but I don't think I rode it a single time *without* some poor child sobbing afterwards.

I have kids that love it. I loved the original attraction myself. I think it's fun enough, I'll take it because I'd hate for it to be replaced with ANYTHING to do with Disney's terrible tween TV shows. Can you imagine being harnessed in and forced to watch Wizards of whatever place for 10 minutes??

We go on it every visit because for some of my kids, it is their favorite...and just like the tween shows, I'm not the target audience.

The ride I always look at with disdain is the Tomorrowland "speed"way...never been on it and probably won't bother.

Sounds Dangerous was pitch black and there were no restraints. I think they are used for effect.

By the way, I like the Stitch ride. It's not my favorite and I never experienced it's predecessor but I enjoy it.

Yeah, the "restraints" are so you can feel Stitch jumping on your shoulders...they move down. The trick is, that if you set them too high you won't feel it. They have to just touch your shoulders.

I don't hate the attraction either. It's not my favorite by a long shot, but it's not THAT bad really. I like the pre-show a lot!

Totally agree! I really wish they would have left Maelstrom, and instead let the new Frozen ride take the place of Stitch...

its certainly no extraTERRORestial alien encounter which i absolutely loved as a child apparently for every reason it always got dumped on.

my family and i don't do stitch all that often but we do enjoy it every once in a while and can't figure out why people seem to absolutely hate it.

Oh, I was in hysterics afterwards when I was 7. My mom still apologizes for dragging me on that ride lol. I think most parents just never expected something that scary to be at Disney.

Worst ride ever but am so tempted to take my mom and dad and siblings on it in June. They haven't been in over 10 years.

We are huge Stitch fans, so we always go. I don't love it, but surely don't hate it. But I do love to watch the animatronic Stitch because he is so darn cute. I have always held my breath for the chili dog, so never had to smell it LOL.

Considering the extensive warnings I saw posted everywhere when we rode I'm surprised how many little kids still went on it. I took my, at the time, 12 year old sister with me and we clutched each other through the whole thing like a bunch of babies, lol. Loved it but it was terrifying. She blames me for her irrational fear of anything with aliens now.

My google fu is weak, and I cannot find the news story, but I know I heard about someone who, for charity, rode Stitch over and over and over from park opening to park closing. That is some hard-earned money for charity.

My son's favorite Disney character is Stitch and we went on it in 2009. I thought for sure it would be redone into a new ride by the time we went in 2014... nope. It is a horrible attraction/ride whatever. The only good part is the robot thing in the waiting area.

Hate it. Uncomfortable. Can't move arms, head, or upper body with the harness. If I'm going to be that uncomfortable in a harness, it better be MS Orange or I had better be going upside down. It's also really jerky. It had really bright flashing lights and is really loud. The smell was just the maggots on the corpse (opposite of icing on the cake). It's a shame. I like Stitch.

It's a weird attraction .. but fun if you like the Stitch character. It is more of a show really along the lines of Carousel of Progress or Bugs Life 3-D .. if you go into it knowing that ... shouldn't be all that disappointing. (I knew what I was getting into because I had gone on both Mission to Mars and Alien Encounter .. both in the same "theater".

It is exactly what they wanted ... a less scary version of Alien Encounter and incorporated a pretty popular Disney character. I mean its not like they made it "Mission to Atlantis" or something with characters from that movie no one remembers.

*shrugs* I'm one of the few that actually enjoy it. I really like Stitch and the ride makes me laugh.

I don't hate the 'ride,' but I'm not heartbroken if we skip it, either. I really can't think of any rides or attractions at WDW that I hate; I'd rather be on a 'bad' ride or seeing a subpar show at WDW than doing almost anything else.
