Ok, how do you know if your refrigerator has died? The light is on inside, it SOUNDS like it is running, but I have just pulled out my ice bin...melted! Ice cream...melted! Things in the fridge feel cool, but not cold! Did it die?

Did you check to see if the thermastat may have been lowered by accident??
Is the fan running?

This sounds like a prank call in the making. ;)

How old is it? I really know nothing about refrigerators but it sounds like maybe it is out of refrigerant?

Are the coils clean? Not likely to cause a sudden problem like this, but check. I'd expect it to be a refrigerant leak.

Oh, man...it kinda does sound like a prank call!!!! Well, it is about 7 years old. I didn't think about the refrigerant! Just started panicking! I did check the thermostat, everything was where it should be. I do hear A fan running...in the freezer section. I checked the coils underneath...they needed to vacuumed, so I did that. Ok, I am just gonna go back to school and check it when I come home. Hopefully it will be resolved either way when I get home....

hope i don't need a new fridge...ugh

when it rains, it pours :umbrella:

Sounds like the compressor went. Have you ever moved your refrigerator to another house or anywhere since you bought it? This will shorten the life span as they are really designed to be bought, delivered and left in the same poace for 10-15 years. :rolleyes1

The good news is that refrigerators are not as expensive as they used to be. Shop around and you will no doubt find a great deal!

Good Luck! :)

Oh, poop! That's what I was afraid of. I have only had it for 7 years...all that time in the same house. Darn it all! Hmmmm...maybe I can get a BIGGER one!!!!!! :teeth:

My husband's gonna love this..... :faint:
