I have been reading on several different threads about umbrellas and how they have been a blessing with being in the sun with the spaced out lines. I am considering this due to medication and high sensitivity. I am just debating what kind and how are people storing these when on rides? Example RoRC?

Thanks :)

you leave things at your feet on RnRC. I use a UV protective one that bought at Publix, I have a carabiner clip and just clip it to my belt loops

I got this little umbrella from Amazon and I think it’s going to work perfectly. It’s auto-open and auto-close, so less hassle, and it fits perfectly in the side pocket of my little park bag (see picture, with a Disney luggage tag so you get an idea of exactly how small my bag and the umbrella are)530171

We used compact ones from Target. They were about 7 inches long when folded. Lightweight and easy to stow in any bag, or in the ride pocket if you don't have a bag.

I have a couple options, but both are small enough to fit in my purse. And yes, they're fantastic for both sun protection and rain protection. Plus all the social distancing means it's easier to avoid accidentally bumping into someone with it.

We carried a small umbrella in my backpack this past Friday at DHS. I did pull it out for shade at one point while I was sitting down waiting for DW to shop. I was glad to have it, but I did get some odd looks since it was perfectly sunny out.

I carry a small backpack that contains my camera, sunscreen, phone recharging battery pack (really needed as everything seem to require MDE and it sucks battery life) , jacket if needed, and umbrella (I use one that compacts down very small).

TY all for the replies. I am not overly worried about the looks. I have very tough skin except when blood red and blistered. I will look for the small ones that can go into a back pack or something. I was debating that or my cross body.

FWIW, at least at DHS, if you are carrying an umbrella they ask that you take it out of the bag and hold it out in front of you as you go through the security screening machine.

They also have a nice selection of smaller umbrellas at TJ Maxx, prob less than $10

I bought a couple super compact umbrellas on Amazon a few years ago. I can literally stick it in my back pocket if needed, and that's what I do when we are going to Disney Springs, etc. I don't carry a backpack there.

We used our umbrellas for sun more than rain in September. Best thing we brought to the parks. Many people commented that they wished they had brought one for sun. Never got a weird look that I noticed. I think a lot of people were a bit jealous lol. We just had small foldable totes type umbrellas. Nothing special. They worked great.

About a year ago I purchased a UV rated umbrella and it was truly an upgrade from a basic rain umbrella! It provides cooling shade. Add a neck fan and you're the envy of the queue 😅.

I purchased on Amazon.

I've got a Minnie Mouse umbrella that I bought at Walmart. Used it more for sun than rain also on our July trip!

The odd looks were people jealous they hadn't brought one for shade

That‘s what I was going to say! “Wow, look at that smart person not roasting in the sun. I wish I had thought of that”

And we don’t leave for 7 days, but our umbrellas are already packed. I melt in the heat :scared::sunny:
