I want to put two of my kids pirate: princess: in strollers - since I don't want to rent strollers if I can avoid it (purely economical reasons), I am considering bringing two umbrella strollers on the plane.

I have one with a canopy (essential in the summer), but it has no storage. We usually hang a diaper bag on the back, but every time the child stands up, stroller tips backwards.

Have seen some strollers with built in mesh bag on bottom, though I haven't seen any online that are inexpensive. Anyone seen something like this online or at a store? Or, any other ideas?

Umbrella stroller only... anything bigger will be too bulky for us to bring (or fit in the trunk with all of our luggage).

Thanks so much!

I have never seen an actual umbrella stroller with storage. I used to have a very small stroller that was similar to an umbrella that had a basket underneath. It folded up flat and weighed as much as an umbrella. I think we got it at Kmart for like $29.99. I believe the brand was Cosco.

Well, if you wait until you get there...

Disney sells an umbrella stroller with canopy that has a mesh bag hanging off the back and a parent cupholder on the handle. We saw it at Once Upon a Toy in DTD for $40. Seemed to be a good deal as it was much sturdier and nicer than my $12 umbrella stroller (no roof, no storage, handles like a broken shopping cart  ) Wish I could remember the brand, but I don't know what kind it was.

Don't know if you'd be interested in a double umbrella stroller, but I ordered one from baby age, it's a Schwinn double umbrella stroller that has a storage basket underneath. I also ordered a single umbrella stoller that has a reclining seat, cup holder and mesh bag on back. It's a Kolcraft and seems much sturdier than the old one I used which was just a cheap one from Babies R Us. Hope it helps!

the babytrend umbrella's at babies r us have storage. they are a good stroller with canopy, recline, and basket. $60

The strollers for sale at DD are Kolcrafts.

I was in Once Upon a Toy last week when I saw a CM moving a cartload of them out of the storage room onto the sales floor. I remarked that I thought it was a great idea that they were finally selling strollers. He said that they had started selling them 6 months ago, and that the only thing they sell more of are Mr. Potato Heads!

I don't know if they sell them at the resort gift shops yet, but I suspect it's only a matter of time. I'm betting that someone at Kolcraft is doing some serious happy dancing.

BTW, if the only problem is the stroller tipping, you can put some weights above the front wheels. Simplest way to do it is a couple of "wiener" balloons full of gravel, tied on just above the footrest.

Do the DD Disney Kolcraft strollers recline? Do you know which model they are?

We have one of the BabyTrend strollers for everyday and are taking to Disney. It folds up like an umbrella but is a little bulkier (I think it weighs about 11lb). BabieRUs had several sturdier "umbrella" options at all price points ($50-$200). It might be worth checking out.

PS
We love our BabyTrend. The model we own cost around $80.00, but it is the only stroller we need for our 1 year old

We bought the Schwin also, it is constructed much better than other umbrellas that we have purchased and stands up better to the rigors of air travel.

scotthart - my Schwinn hasn't arrived yet so I'm glad to hear you're happy with yours. I bought the double because the advertisement said it would hold up to 100 lbs. My girls are small for their age (36 and 39lbs) but it was comforting to know that we could keep using it at DIsney a little bit longer.

We purchased our Schwinn double stroller for our November trip to Disney with our two sons, ages 2 and 6. The stroller is wonderful. Strong enough to hold my almost 7 year old with no problems even now, large baskets under each seat, both seats recline, have a great shade over head, the handles of the stroller are able to be adjusted for the height of the parent, which is great for dad, and it folds up compact and light. Love this stroller, it was wonderful on and off the buses at Disney, on the train and trams when needed, hightly recommend this stroller. You will be happy with it!

Thanks for the suggestions and the pictures... that stroller pictured would be perfect! If not for the price tag. My kids are getting to be too large for strollers, but still like riding in them (especially knowing that they will be tired at WDW). So, that stroller would have been awesome years ago, but not much useage for me beyond another few months. A double stroller would be way too heavy to push, and too bulky in car with the five of us and all our luggage. ;)

Anyone ever heard of a company called 'Delta' that sells strollers? I found a few on www.coat.com (Burlington) that seems to be an option, but I never heard of the company before. I've never been to a Burlington store before, do they actually have strollers onsite? I see there is one off the Beeline expwy.

Tiffanie - thanks so much. I can't wait for ours to arrive. Last year we rented a double stroller for the girls at WDW. We'll be at US/IOA for 5 nights and POR for another 5 nights this year and then we have a two week trip scheduled for July 2005 so I knew we'd more than recoup our money but buying instead of renting. It's great to hear from someone who has this stroller and is happy with it. That was a concern of mine too of folding stroller and getting on and off buses since this is the first time we're not staying ina monorail hotel. Thanks again!
