We are flying then renting a car so we dont have room to store a big stroller. Looks like we are gonna have to take the umbrella stroller. I am bummed because I love the storage basket at the bottom of my big stroller ( to store camera, camcorder, xtra set of clothes , snacks etc,). I thought I have seen like a hanging bag to put on the back of the umbrella stroller but I have looked everywhere and cant find one! Can anyone help me?

When we took my neice to WDW in late 2003. We bought a really great umbrella stroller from Walmart. It was around $40.00. It was the weight and size of an umbrella stroller. However, it reclined into 1 position, it had a sunroof and it had a small attached hanging bag. It was the greatest thing, and so easy to transport.

I had a link to this before but it isn't working anymore. Try searching for a Maclaren stroller organizer. It's a pretty neat little bag made to hang on the back of an umbrella stroller.

We took a Maclaren Volo and LOVED it for our last trip. The mesh basket under the seat hold quite a bit! It was the perfect Disney stroller for us. DH has already said if our oldest still can't handle the walking by the next trip we're buying a 2nd volo to bring on that trip too!

Definitely be sure you have a shade on it! We took an umbrella without a shade our first trip and sometimes my DD seemed to be roasting!

I got mine at Babies R Us. Check online. Another option which we have done is getting a lightweight mess backpack from Walmart. I think it was under $4. It was great for getting through security, lightweight so when we put it over the handles it didn't tip the stroller over when the baby got out.

we have a storage area under our cheap stroller but, use a collapseable cooler (the type that hold 9 cans) and hang it off the handles. It will easily hold 6 bottles of water and snacks. The cooler will keep them cold thourghout the day. look around and you can find one with a storage area on the side for autograph books etc. Our new cooler was $5.96 at Walmart, so not looking at alot of $$.

K-mart has an umbrella stroller with a basket underneath and a shade on sale for around $15. I know I am definitely going to take a look at this one for our trip in Dec. HTH

The stoller we use for my now 3 year old.. doesnt have the basket, but a mesh bag that hangs on the back of the seat. It holds quite a bit. we dont carry around food and drinks and we are out of the diapers, so usally its the autograph books, pens, camera, even the video camera fits in there with out a case. it has the shade, the seat adjusts back to a reclining position, and it came with removable cup holder. I got my stoller at Toys R Us.

My friend bought a cheap stroller at Kmart for our trip this past January and I know it was one of the cheaper ones. It has pooh or someone disney on it and was a powder blue color. By the end of the trip, it was hard to steer.. the wheels had a mind of its own. ALso. it was too short. So if you are taller, and Id say my friend is 5'6-5'8... you have to sort of hunch over to push it. Just something to consider when buying a cheap one!!

I'm one of those people at 5'9" and we bought handle extenders for ours. They weren't expensive and easy to attach. They are shaped just like the curved handles on an umbrella stroller. I bought them at either Toys 'r' us or Target.

We always used a pooh backpack on ours. I had one of the stroller bags but it didn't hold very much. With the backpack we could keep a lot of stuff with us but it was outof sight and I didn't feel like anyone was going tosteal anything.

I am confused as to why you can't bring your regular stroller. My wife and I went last April with our 9mo. old. Most airlines allow you to check your stroller as you board the plane. When you arrive it is waiting for you as you deboard. If your stroller fold it should fit in the trunk of the rental car. Having the additional storage space as well as a spot where my DD could lay down and take mid-day nap was great. I would reconsider.

You can! But having a lightweight umbrella stroller gives you extra room in your car if you are driving and pack a lot and it's a lot easier to handle on the busses.
