Umbrella stroller for TALL kiddo?

My DD age 4 is 42 1/2" tall, and I al looking for an umbrella stroller for our trip to WDW. She is autistic & will need a stroller from time to time during our visit, but the one we use at home is pretty big. Typical umbrella style strollers are way to small for her...her feet hang down to the ground and can even get caught under the footrest.

Any suggestions?

My ds is just slightly under 40" and still fits ok in his Kidco LS2000 stroller, although he's a little bit on the long-torso'd side so his head is now slightly above the back of the seat. Thank goodness this stroller has a curved canopy so he still fits in the stroller with the canopy on it. The Kidco's are really similar to the Maclaren strollers. Kidco strollers have a 50lb maximum weight and Macs are 55lbs, so they are generally made for bigger kids. These strollers are definitely bigger than your average umbrella stroller.

I am also planning a WDW trip with my 5 year old, very tall, autistic daughter. I know I will need a stroller for her some of the time. I think that I am going to rent the park strollers for two reasons. One, I have seen lots of big kids in these and they seem to fit much better than in a regular stroller. Two, I think my daughter will see lots of kids in these and then want to be like them and have one of her own. All of the strollers seem to have good sun coverage and also lots of room for storage. Also, since I might have to cary her onto busses and monorails, I think that having the ability to leave the stroller at the park and not lug a large fold up will be a help. Also, I won't have to store one in our hotel room. Just a few thoughts. However, I don't think that the strollers at MK and AK look very comfortable so I will bring a blannket or pad to place on it so it is softer.

My son is 43.5" and still fits just fine in the MacLaren Triumph. His feet stay nicely on he footrest.

A lot of people have posted in the past that their children with autism like the park strollers for several reasons.
One is the firm plastic they are made of. It's the same type of a plastic that the Little Tikes things are made from, very firm, but not hard.
The other reason is that the solid sides and large canopy cut down a lot on stimulation.

If you want to rent a larger stroller for use outside the parks, here are some places that rent them:

Medical Travel (These 2 web sites look the same - I don't know if it is really one company with 2 websites/names.
All About Kids - they don't have any pictures, but their website does say they rent children's size wheelchairs.

I don't have reviews of any of these places and 3 of them appear to rent the same kind of strollers (MacClaren Major strollers).

We just got a Maclaren Volo for our almost 5 DS, who is the same size as your DD. I love Maclarens - this is our second - our DD2 will be in the other. I'll never have another brand.
