okay, so now I'm not only worried about my seats for dreamgirls being too close, now I am worried about stubhub.

I did this too spur of the moment (bought tix for my dh and I to see dreamgirls next weekend for his birthday present). I dont think I really realized what stubhub was when I did it. just thought they were a regular ticket selling place like ticketmaster. just did a search on them (yeah, I know, I should have done that before buying thru them) and I am not getting a good feeling.

has anybody ever used stubhub for tickets? good/bad experiences?

ugh ugh ugh

this is why I take more time when I do stuff like this! lesson learned. and fingers crossed that all is okay!

We have bought sporting event tickets from them without problem and would do it again. The Baltimore Orioles actually refer you there.

What is the problem? They appear to be a legit ticket broker like Ticketmaster. I am going to say thank goodness Ticketmaster has some competition. They charge way too much.

I never did but have lots of friends who have used them without any trouble if that helps.

that helps a lot. I was seeing lots of stuff about people not hearing from sellers, things not going as they thought they would go. I appreciate the good stories, they help!!!!!!

We've had great experience with Stub Hub. Only once did we get different seats then we bought- but they were better seats! The seller had double sold and since we had bought from him before he gave us better seats!

StubHub is a legitimate ticket reseller (aka scalper), but IMO the fees they charge are exorbitant. We've had better luck with eBay.

I used them once, and got great seats. I also felt uneasy about it, and every time someone came to my row, I was thinking that my tickets were fake and that we were in their seats. But I would order from them again, if I couldn't find tickets anywhere else.

That happened to me too. I got upgraded to 3rd row!

The Cardinals refer people to StubHub for tickets as well. I believe they're partnered with them.

Personally, I've bought tickets numerous times for concerts through StubHub and never had any issue whatsoever.

I bought Phillies tickets through Stubhub last season because they were impossible to get otherwise. I had a really good experience with them. I bought the tickets a few months in advance, and knew that they were coming electronically. I wasn't worried. About a month before the game, I got an email saying that there was a problem with the electronic delivery, and they were sending the actual ticket Fed Ex. I received them within days of the email, and then they sent me another email offering me $10 my next purchase for my "trouble". It really wasn't any trouble!

I'd buy from them again if I had to...

I buy tickets from Stubhub all the time and I have never had a problem.

We've also bought St Louis Cardinals tickets from them. We were refered to them thru the Cardinals website. I think it's about the only way to get single game Cardinals tickets anymore. We didn't have any problems using them.

StubHub is awesome!! DBF got me tickets to a Raider game a few years, we were in the End Zone!! Not the Black Hole, the other side! LOL OMG it was awesome!!! And the transaction was perfect, no complaints at all. :)

They are 100% legit....used them a few times for pro baseball/basketball games without any issues.

We've also had good experiences with Stub Hub, on both the buyer's side and the seller's side. :)

Just want to add that StubHub is more like eBay than it is a reseller or scalper. Generally, they never have possesion of the tickets. I've used StubHub about a half dozen times with no problems.

This is correct, StubHub is more the go-between. You get the actual tickets from the person selling them or at will call at your event. :)

Last time I checked there was a significant mandatory fee even to pick up tickets at Will Call - is that still the case? Prior to StubHub the Angels had a ticket exchange program where you could buy tickets made available by season ticket holders and not be charged any fees for Will Call pickup.

I found this bit on Wikipedia: "Unlike other online ticket resellers, such as Craigslist (free) and eBay (up front price per listing), StubHub takes a 25% commission after the sale occurs (10% from the buyer, 15% from the seller)."

But that's talking about middleman fees, not shipping costs.

I actually don't know, DBF made the arrangements and had the tickets in hand when we went to game. He picked them up from the person who sold them to him at a neutral location. DBF works close to the coliseums in Oakland so he and the person he bought from just picked a location near them both and he got the tickets that way.
