I was reading about FW and it mentioned the refillable mugs for purchase there but said something about only for coffee (not soda) like that in parenthesis.
So at FW if you buy the refillable cup you can't get refills on soda with it? If that info is wrong please let me know- and also where you can get soda refills with the mug at FW.
Thanks!

you can get soda refills. the soda is located down at pioneer hall..

Okay thanks- that's the only place though? I thought it was weird that it said not soda.. I thought uhoh... bad if FW is the only place you can't get refills on soda if you buy the refillable mug! I was thinking we better pack some cases of diet sodas for us all. LOL

Allears lists a couple of places for refills, at Pioneer Hall and at Meadow Trading Post. We don't get a whole lot of use out of them since we're Pepsi people who have our fix delivered, but since they come with the deluxe plan I did at least want to know where to fill 'em!

Actually allears is where I read this:
I put the mug part in bold
Yes. Basic groceries (milk, bread, juice, cereal, sandwich meats, bacon, sausage, eggs, canned vegetables, frozen dinners, pizza, stuff for spaghetti, chips, hot dogs, etc.) limited camping supplies, and souvenirs are available at both the Meadow and Settlement Trading Posts. Expect to pay somewhat higher prices though for the convenience. Refillable mugs are available at the Trail's End Restaurant for $11.99, which includes free refills for coffee and tea (not soft drinks). The mugs may also be refilled at the Meadow Trading Post (self serve) and at the Meadow pool snack bar (self serve). Groceries may also be purchased at Goodings, which is located in the Crossroads area. The Trading Posts are essentially the same except the Meadow Trading Post has a slightly better selection and includes a soft serve ice cream machine. The Meadow Trading Post is also easier to navigate in if you are using a wheelchair or electric conveyance vehicle.

See how it says not soda at Trail's end and then only mentions self-serve at the other places? I wasn't sure it meant soda included there- I didn't even know if soda IS there- I've never been there beofre. KWIM? so it was a little confusing.
How come it says not soda at Trail's end? You can't get refills there? Isn't that odd?

The info you have posted is incorrect. Trail's End has a self serve soda machine at the counter by the take out entrance for free refills. Coffee and tea only at the Meadows. The pool snack bar is opened seasonally. I have never seen a soft serve ice cream machine at the Meadows. There are many grocery stores in the area that are better than Goodings, including Super Walmart and Publix.

There's a slushy machine at Meadows now. It is NOT included in the mug deal.

Goodings is a tremendous rip off. If you go the DTD route like you were going to Goodings, instead of crossing over 535 to go into the plaza, turn left on 535, go about 2 miles. There's a Winn Dixie on the right. Publix & Wal-Mart are further away. While I love Publix, WD is closer & usually has great BOGO deals going on. On your way back, treat yourself to lunch or dinner at the Orlando Ale House. It'll be on your right as you head back to DTD.

There's a much faster back way to WD & OAH - but if you're unfamiliar with the area - stick to the main roads.

I have seen the slushy machine. I was told the mugs could not be refilled there, but if you stick your head under the machine just right, you can dispense it directly into your mouth. The trick is getting enough in to make it worthwhile before the CM's catch you or brain freeze sets in.

So there's no place to get soda refills without going all the way to Pioneer Hall? Or am I misreading this?

I believe you can get soda at the Meadows Pool snack bar when it is open. Right now, with the pool rehab going on, it is closed and since I go off season, I have never seen the pool snack bar open. So at present, it is coffee and tea at the Meadows trading post, coffee, tea and soda at Trail's End.

Well, the pool rehab will be over before we get there, so I'll just hope that Memorial Day is close enough to peak season for the pool bar to be open. It would be a shame not to be able to use the mugs poolside on our resort day.

The soft serve ice cream was at the meadows trading post way back when you could still get sandwiches and such there. I wish they still had that.

Okay wow- i wonder where they got all that incorrect info then. Is it perhaps really old info not updated? Weird.

Okay so basically you can ONLY get soda at Trail's end? Hmmm some people are camped might far from that. wow.

its a hop, skip and a jump from all sites... just get on a bike or golf cart and make that run... ;)

hop skip and jump from all sites? Some are clear the other end of the campgrounds from that! ?
Also we don't have a cart- and clearly I can't send DH to get refills in all our mugs if he's riding a bike. :(
We may have to forego buying refillable mugs this time- and just stock up on our own drinks at the TT I suppose.
