I just blew up our mixer.

Note to all those wishing to make a cheesecake:

Let the cream cheese soften on the counter for about an hour before adding it.

Note to self: when mixer is struggling to mix thru the cream cheese, you may want to stop....the mixer is gonna blow.

Now I know why I don't attempt to make things in the kitchen! Someday I'll tell ya the attempt(s) at making creme brulee (oh how I love that little torch thing!)

Ummm.....I think it's a good time to get a kitchen-Aid mixer. They can handle anything...cream cheese, bread dough, fingers (if you're not careful...like I almost wasn't. ).

Ummm.....I think it's a good time to get a kitchen-Aid mixer. They can handle anything...cream cheese, bread dough, fingers (if you're not careful...like I almost wasn't. ).

I blew up 2 hand mixers during one christmas trying to make cranberry oatmeal cookies. 1 guess what was under the tree....
I love my kitchen aid mixer and DH loves his cookies.

I'm very sorry about your mixer's demise. But I am VERY happy to read about all these KitchenAid raves. I bought one for DH for Christmas. It's wrapped and hidden at his parent's house until Christmas Eve.
