Your brace looks like a steroidal version of my ACL brace. This velcro strap goes this way... tab B hooks to slot C....

All the best to you Robert. My 75 year old mom has the exact same brace on her leg but she is nearing the end of her recovery and should have it off in a couple of weeks. Lucky for us her master bedroom is downstairs! Sending happy healing thoughts your way!
