tigger71: Just back from CS. If you have any questions let me know. They give a swipe card that doubles as your park ticket and room key. She told us that our tix were ultimate hoppers for length of stay, but found out at disney quest on our first day that it was NOT for length of stay but only our 2 main days.
Has anyone else experienced this with UHP's? When I made my reservations with the ZXWB package, from a DC discount "room only" reservation, the CM told me that with the package we got UHP's which give us usage of two plus features. I said what do you mean? He said we could use the water parks and DQ twice. I questioned this and he said that's the way it's always been. I tried to say no it hasn't but instead of debating this fact with the CM, I called back and was told he was wrong from another CM. Now I'm wondering which CM was right.....Anyone else experience problems like this with UHP's or is this something new that's connected with a code maybe? Hope not because if so this will no longer be an option for us when it comes to ticket purchases.

The CM you talked to is incorrect and confusing a regular hopper with the UPH -- a problem that has occurred by Disney's changing the name of the "Length of Stay" a few years back to something with the word "hopper" in it thus creating confusion with actual hoppers including among inexperienced CM's. Also note that those "plus" features in the package that the CM mentioned have nothing to do with the park ticket -- packages have plusses for things like a character meal, t-shirt, etc.

The quote you mention from someone else is a different issue -- resort apparently gave them a UPH that covered only two days leaving off day of arrival and/or departure. Disney resorts will actually leave off day of arrival and/or day of departure from a UPH purchased at the resort if the guest requests it (and net result is that you pay less for the UPH by not paying for days you won't be using); so apparently that is what happened to the person you quote although he may have misunderstood what was going on at check in and got a UPH.

How do you get them to leave off your departure day on your UPH ticket? We inquired about this when making our reservation and were told the only way to do it was to check out and check back in (possibly having to change rooms) and that the net difference in cost to us would only be about $20. We have to leave early on our departure day so will be checking out and going and are disappointed that we have to pay for a day we won't use.

It can only be done at resort check in. When you book your room, do not purchase the UPH's. You cannot get the UPH in advance and have the day dropped. That means if you are on any kind of a package that includes UPH's, you are out of luck.

Then when you get to your resort, you simply tell them that you wish to have your departure day removed. The one drawback to doing this is you will have to pay the higher UPH rate since you will be buying it at the resort rather than in advance. See

Deb's web site for advance prices vs. buying at check in.

Well, if you have a package with UHP's included you can't really do it. I guess you could ask when you check in but I doubt it. What you would have to do is make reservations for "room only" and then purchase your UHP's at the front desk of your resort. This way you only pay for the days you want but you won't get any kind of discount on your tickets.

After our last encounter with a CM at the ASMO this past Jan., I have decided that I will not be purchasing UPH's again. Two years ago we purchased UPH's at the resort and had a really great CM that helped us get exactly what we needed for our long weekend trip for our grown children. This last trip we got a CM that did not help us out at all or even offer any suggestions or alternatives to our ticket purchases. We ended up having to shell out more money than we should have. From now on I'll be purchasing park hoppers from Ticketmania. This particular CM even told me that since I had a paid in full reservation that I could not have charging privileges. I would have to be on a cash only basis! What a dumby! I'm glad I am a avid follower of the Dis! How many novices would have believed that one!
