I finally heard back from my planner and my dessert party is back on. We finalized a menu. Here it is

Birthday cake--Cinderella theme, six inches with butter cream $43
Butterscotch marshmallow squares
Chocolate covered strawberries
Cotton candy
Mickey mouse shortbread with chocolate dipped ears
Baby cakes cinnamon sugar doughnuts
Assorted meat and cheese platter
Water, milk and fruit punch

Ice cream novelties BOC

Cost per person $39

I want to thank everyone who posts their menus. It really helped with inspiration. I would never have thought of cotton candy but I saw that here and know my kids will love it.

The chefs have been great coming up with a safe menu for my nut allergic daughter. All her food will be plated separately.

A couple of questions still. Do I need decor or is UK pubside sufficiently lovely? I was thinking assorted paper flowers. Can I bring glow sticks, bracelets, necklaces?

I have read that a Soarin' mix in is available for no extra cost. Is this something to consider or would it be more pleasant to enjoy a leisurely exit after the fireworks? Is it a long walk to Soarin' through the backstage area?

Thanks so much again.

Hi! UK Pubside is hard to make look super-great via decor unless you have a lot of it. I mean, if you want to bring paper flowers and put them on the table, they will look nice. But if you want to pay Disney to decorate it, it'll cost a bundle to really make an impact. You can bring glow stuff. We loved our Soarin' mix-in even though it meant wading through a downpour and a couple of lakes to get there! The entrance is not far from UK Pubside - they take you in through World Showplace, the big convention hall where Party for the Senses and other Epcot events are held.

Thanks Carrie. I think we will skip the mix in. I don't want to tire the kids out with too much walking that late at night.
I'm going to bring a few flowers for the table.

Got my BEO today. There were a few errors. I noticed an illuminations viewing fee. Will we have to pay that if we have annual passes?

We came in right at the minimum. Quite pleased with our menu.

Ill be down in three weeks. Is UK pubside open during the day so I can get a peek at my venue?

Oh wanted to add: I can't believe how cheap my cake is. Only $45. That's the best price I've ever gotten on a cake.

You should be able to go down to UK Pubside earlier in the day. And you shouldn't have to pay the viewing fee because you're not doing a Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding event—just tell your planner how many people have APs.

Thanks. Ill let her know. It shaves a little off that final bill.

We are back and had a wonderful event!! They did the dessert table decor with illuminated ice cubes and it was beautiful and the food was arranged and looked (and tasted) wonderful. Michael was our banquet server and he was amazing!!!

You can get to the area during park hours - in fact we had lunch there on our first day. It is a covered area just behind Rose and Crown. We had huge rain that night - the cover was just enough to keep it comfortable and with ponchos we stayed pretty dry. Illuminations was delayed 30 minutes and even so Michael stayed and kept us comfortable and full of yummy stuff until the show was over!

While budget would not allow us to do this every time, it was a wonderful, memorable night!

I'm so glad your party turned out well. What was the tastiest item? What did you guys drink? Were you rushed out after Illuminations or did you linger? I just paid my deposit and am anxiously awaiting our October birthday party.

Everything we had was good, but he baklava was great, and the fruit plate was wonderful. The eclairs were devoured! Everything on the fruit plate was fresh and sweet, and it was beautifully arranged. We had regular and decaf coffee, hot tea, lemonade and ice water to drink. They had three hot drink stations and two large iced beverage dispensers. We were not rushed out by any stretch, but with the rain and delay in Illuminations we did not desire to linger much. We did have another cup of coffee after the show was done, and enjoyed it walking back to the Boardwalk.

Love hearing all this. Gets me so excited. Thanks.
