UK Fish & Chips - sit down vs counter

Are the fish and chips at the Rose and Crown the exact same thing they serve at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop? Is it just a larger portion at the Rose and Crown?

Yorkshire County Fish Shop:
Fish & Chips - 2 strips of fish served with chips $7.99

Rose and Crown:
Harry Ramsden's Fish & Chips - Battered fresh Cod served with English Chips $15.99

In past years, they have been the same. I'm not sure how the portions are at either place now, but I expect maybe one less fish strip than the dining room meal. I still think the take out window is the better deal.

Definitely a better deal outside, but dh hates to eat at the window because it is so hot to eat outside and tables are hard to come by. I was hoping Rose and Crown offered something more or better for double the price of the outside.

They weren't the same from our experience. The fish at the sit down restaurant was one large, long piece of fish. The ones at the counter service are smaller pieces - I think 2 per order. It has been a few years since we went to the sit down place, but I saw a picture on a dining review recently and it looked the same as what I had.

I prefer the counter service location.

well now you DO get those mushy peas with your dinner

we don't like peas at all! So this is no consolation prize to having them at the R&C. Couldn't fit R&C dinner this trip so we're going to try the CS just to compare because we've always liked the fish & chips at R&C slathered in vinegar
