UK companion restroom...EPCOT.

I know there was a sticky last year here with detailed companion bathroom descriptions but I couldn't find it today.

I was in EPCOT in the UK yesterday and looking for the Companion restroom that is listed on the disabilities guide map. I even asked a CM who was CLEANING the regular bathrooms at the UK pavilion and he walked all around the corner and couldn't find it and had no idea where it was.
So, I had to go to Morocco (not very close at all).

Where is this mystery companion restroom in UK? If the CM who cleans them doesn't know, how are we supposed to find it?

Are you thinking of the one on the side of Canada?

From Sue's sticky-
Near Canada – at the Refreshment Port between Canada and the Showcase Plaza. Very large room with a sort of antechamber where someone could stand inside room out of view of person using restroom. Very high toilet paper dispenser. Toilet, urinal, changing table (table is 47 inches long, 22 inches wide, 36 inches high). Wheelchair could be parked in front of or to right of toilet. NO PICTURE YET

From Disney's website-
· On the East side of Spaceship Earth attraction

· Opposite Test Track attraction

· Opposite Living with the Land attraction

· Near the Canada Pavilion

· Near the Germany Pavilion

· Near the Morocco Pavilion

· Near the Norway Pavilion opposite the Viking ship

· Land Pavilion at Soarin entrance

No, I'm looking at the one that is listed on this map right next to the #19 in the UK.

The location marked is the exact location of the regular bathrooms that are across the street from Rose & Crown, but there is no companion one actually there, despite the symbol there that is used for the companion restrooms.
I think the mapmaker made a mistake. There has never been a Companion Restroom in that location. I did not use that Ladies Room on our recent trip, but walked past the area several times during our stay and did not see anything that looked different than on past trips.

In post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is a link to a thread about restrooms I started last year. That’s the thread I think the OP was thinking of.

It is not listed on the list from the Disney website. It is possible that it is a typo.

There is one nearby in Canada, and I know WDW does not provide a lot of companion restrooms.

Thanks so much for the sanity check. We wandered around there because we had just had dinner at Rose & Crown.

I figured something was wrong when the CM who cleans them was walking all around looking and couldn't find it...lol. But, I also know that sometimes they are rather hidden.

Yep, that was the thread I was looking for. I printed it out last year but wanted to double check myself again....just incase something was installed in the UK area this past year. (I was hoping).

I knew the Diser's would know. I'm going to include that in my letter to disney (had some major issues getting wheelchairs to and from the parking lot and the sign in the EPCOT parking lot also shows the ECV/wheelchair location in the wrong spot in the park).

I'd guess that the companion rest room on the map is actually semi-backstage. It looks like it could be part of the World Showcase Events Pavilion area.

I think you are right, Bill.
I remember some restrooms right outside of that pavilion, so they may be only semi-accessible.

We could not find that one either.A nice CM helped us find another restroom down a back way. Do not think I could find it again.I really got twisted around as to which way to go.

The RN who is a pass holder and has been many times also thought the map had a typo. The hidden one we ended up in that the CM knew how to find may have been the map one just hideing where we would not have looked.

We joked later that it was like the hidden Harry Potter room. Saying that it was in the wrong park but thankful the CM found it.

From Bill's comment, I am pretty sure it is the one that was by the old Millenium Pavilion that was used in 1999 and 2000. I had forgotten about that restroom, but once he mentioned it makes sense and is where the map indicates.
That space is usually not open, but is still used for some special events and conventions. That is probably why it is still on the map - so people using that pavilion for some reason can find it. I would not count on using it since I think it is usually backstage and it is not listed in the Disney website as a Companion Restroom ( when the gate to area is not open). I think the Harry Potter room analogy is a good one - there are lots of backstage exits that are only visible if you know where to look, have a guide and the time is just right.

It think it's very likely to be a mistake though because the 'regular' park map has the icon for the UK general restrooms in that same spot on the map. And, that is the correct map location for the general restrooms. they are almost to the back of the UK with a small courtyard of paths shown on the map in front of them. The restroom icon on the regular map is just minus the wheelchair symbol that denotes the Companion Restrooms - the Companion Restroom icons appear only on the Maps for Guests with Disabilities. So, maybe just poor fact checking on the map before it was published.
The nearest Companion Restroom that is available is the one near Canada. That one is much closer than Morocco.
