Uk Brides who used Virgin Holidays??

Fantastic news. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I know some holiday combinations can't be booked online so you have to ring them.

Was it Nicki you spoke to from Virgin? She's a Disney expert.

Like you, she phoned us back and I booked it all over phone.

Yes Nicky was the lady we both spoke to & she was totally lovely:) . She was so excited when she found out we were getting married out there too, she was asking if i ve got my ears etc. She was saying how Virgin gave i think 13 of the Orlando specialist team VIP trips out to see evrything. Now that sounds like my dream job :lovestruc .

It did nt feel like we were talking to someone who was trying to sell us something, it was more like chatting to a friend about all of our plans. I ve sent Doreen at Disney weddings our Virgin ref but because we booked just before 8pm last night the ref was nt showing up on their systems so hopefully it will today.

In all honesty the cost was a lot better than we both thought it would of been plus as someone mentioned we are members of the flying club so we got i think 10% discount which was great. Plus we got the added car upgrade, she was nt too sure if we would be intitled to it but then went "what the hell i ll give you guys it anyway", so we love her

We re going out for our planning session in Oct which im soooo excited about. We cant really do the whole "Disney" normal planning session as we ve only got 1 other guest coming out so its not like we can visit Franks. Its really just so we can try out all the restaurants, visit everything Disney & in all honesty its really to give us both a much needed Disney fix:laughing: . My fiance has not long had a transplant so hes had a very tough few years in the wait for one & since having one so its really a celebration of him getting well. Planning our wedding has got us both through a lot of hard times, its given us something to look forward to & focus on so it really means the world to us to finally be at the stage where we re putting pen to paper :thumbsup2

Can't beat a good Disney fix to make the world right!

Great news that your DF is now well again, sounds like a long road to recovery but you've done it!

I wish we could have a planning sesh, mind we both still have a weeks holiday to take sometime this year......... no! will resist! we too are doing the escape package so unfortunately would not get to visit francks or have a proper tasting session either, but there are tons of other yummy things in 'the world' to feast upon!!!

We ll be having plenty of mini tasting sessions through out the whole trip :rotfl: , so much food so little time  I dread to think of how much weight we ll end up putting on, then again i guess you walk most of it off anyway so its all good :thumbsup2. The only thing im gutted we wont be able to do which many planning couples get is trying the different types of cake for your wedding cake. Im not too sure what Yellow Cake is & other types are so it would of been nice. Still im sure whatever we pick it ll be yummy ::yes::

I know, everyone says the cake is sooooo good :lovestruc I can't wait for that, I have a real sweet tooth!

Have you made any restaurant ADR's yet then?

Back on to topic, (sort of anyway) did you book your guest's holiday when you did yours last night, or did they book their own too, coz that's the most annoying part for me at the moment, 6 of us are booked, but we have at least another 6 who haven't yet, and a few people who we don't actually know if they're coming or what!
Not that I really mind that too much, if more people come it's a bonus, but we're looking at Citrico's Chef's Domaine for our meal at the moment and it only seats 14 so if more people suddenly decide to come then I need to get used to a new reception location!
Ah the complications of Disney weddings...

I still need to ring Virgin to check that dining plan is right on my mum's booking, must remember to do that tonight while I'm in!
Glad you had a good booking experience with Virgin, ours had seemed to be ok, but if you've read my PJ you'll know the trials and tribulations I've had with them!

Nicki's great, isn't she.....It's like you've known her for years by the time you have got off the phone.

She even phoned my Sister, when I told her that she wanted to book into a DVC resort for the wedding too. Nothing is too much trouble for her.

meryll :goodvibes I need to locate your pj then as i dont belive i ve read it. We booked our adrs for Oct a few weeks back :thumbsup2 although we do need to call them once more to add one more date when we go to MNSSHP.

We ve only got my mum planned to come out for our wedding, my dads petrified of flying so he wont come out & my sis has just had a baby which will be 1 year old the day after our wedding so she wont be coming out either. So as you can see its gonna be a small gathering but in many ways i dont mind that as there are no complications at all:cutie: . We ve had to sign my mum up to the flying club before we could book her trip inorder to get her the discount. We ve done that now, we ve got Nickys direct Number at Virgin so we ll book my mums trip tonight.Shes gonna stay out there for 14 days so we at least get some time a lone, plus my mums adament that she does nt wanna be as she puts it "in our pockets". Shes a very independant lady whos not phased at heading out on her own, we re gonna book one of the Virgin day trips for her which takes you down to the Everglades. Shes been on that before & loved it :lovestruc so we figured it would be a nice lill surprise. I wont have her walking round the parks on her own as that makes me feel uneasy but i know when we go certain places she ll probably enjoy more chilling at the Polys beach.

We re gonna book the lounge pass at Gatwick for her too as i know she ll like that extra comfort factor

Oooh which restaurants have you got booked, tell me tell me?!!

The link to my PJ is in my signature. I'll warn you it might be heavy going, there's a lot of it!
You'll see my mum nearly didn't come, not coz she's afraid of flying, she just doesn't like long flights  but for some reason (of which I'm still not quite sure!) she's decided to join us!

It does kinda appeal to me actually not having anyone else to worry about, as I'll want to make sure that everyone is happy with what they're doing and where they're going all the time, but we wanted a bit of our own time too, so we've booked a 3 night cruise at the end of our stay so we have our own little honeymoon.

Thats why im kinda glad its just my mum coming out as i would always constantly be worrying if everyone was having a good time, what they thought of our wedding..... etc Im very much a worrier so panic over the slightest thing.

We ve booked:

Chef Mickeys
Garden Grill
Ohanas
Crystal Palace
Grand Floridian Cafe
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sci Fi Dine In Theatre

As you can see they re mostly character meals which im a sucker for as im a big kid so go mad whenever i see any characters especially Eeyyore as hes been my fav since i ve been pretty young :lovestruc . My dfs a very very picky eater, only normally eats standard english food, the most adventurous thing he ll eat is Speg Bog. So because of that a few restaurants ie California Grill were left off. We both like things that are fun so i that we had a good mix.

Plus we both badly wanna go to Beaches & Cream :thumbsup2 , once for their burgers as i hear they re amazing & then to try the Kitchen Sink. Kona for breakfast is another must to for us to try

We're both quite picky eaters too so that restricts us a wee bit too when it comes to choosing restaurants but it sounds like you've picked some good ones! I love Disney food.

And yes you have to try Beaches and Cream, we had No Way Jose's for dessert, we really shared have shared one as they were so huge but mmmm they were delish!

We managed the Cali Grill as there was a cheese and pesto flatbread for starter and steak for main so that was our "poshest" one, some of the other restaurants menus unfortunately were just too fussy for us.

So we ve now booked with Virgin for next May which im so relieved about:woohoo: , apparently premium economy for our flight out there next May is nearly already full up (only 10 seats left  ) so am really glad we booked when we did :thumbsup2 .

Have contacted Doreen to get the ball rolling with them but she cant as yet find us on their system:( .

When booking with Virgin how long did it take for Disney weddings to be able to locate your booking :confused3 ? The Virgin ref is completly different from the one you get if you were to book hotels direct with Disney making it trickier for Doreen to locate us.

if you call virgin they can give you a ref number for disney but like i said before it can take a few days as they dont transfer every day. My travel agent called virgin to get the reservation numbers but we booked our holidy last may and we contracted in sept so ours was a few months difference.

i would ring them though as they can give you thr group number they book all the rooms under, thats whay we got

Just head on the radion this morning that Virgin and BA's fuel charges go up as of today, didn't say how much by.

I told our other guests to get their butts in gear and book!

problem over:thumbsup2 , Doreen mailed over our contarct last night so yay we re finally starting planning our wedding with Disney  :woohoo: :lovestruc

I can't wait until October when we finally get to the stage you're at now!!

Now thats what i call good timing :woohoo:

Am glad our every growing checklist of things to do is slowely getting more ticks next to each point :thumbsup2

I just wish i did nt get so stressed, when Doreen could nt find us on Disneys system i had a mini nervous breakdown. Im too highly strung, i go from 0 -100 in secs. Im trying to get more of a laid back chilled approach to everything. Im just too much of a stress head

Simon said that to me the other week - you have two speeds, 100mph and off! :rotfl2:

You sound just like me:bitelip: , im not one of those people who can go with the flow. Patience is a word i ve heard of but have never chosen to live by:laughing: . I think if i did nt have something to worry over i would truely crack up, im half a bundle of energy half a ball of fire. Moodswings have become a good friend of mine, & i intend to use them freely & frequent :rotfl:

God help my df over the next year, think im gonna drive him nutts:furious: . Hes one of those really chilled out go with the flow people, oh i envy him.

I'm normally pretty chilled out actually, but then something must snap eventually and I go crazy :rotfl2:
I have had days where I've got stressed about the wedding already and we're miles out - not good! I didn't realise there would be stress involved!
