Hi - we are hoping to have our wedding on 8th May 2007. Our guests want to book their trips as soon as possible - did your guests wait until after the 8 month mark when your contract was signed or did they book before that?

They want to book to get the early bird discounts for 1 year in advance, I also want to book our trip but i am nervous in case something goes wrong. I have said to the disney planner that even if a conference/convention comes in, can we keep the same date but have it elsewhere?

whats your advice? as long as it is around that date, and my guests are there, do you think it will be ok?

please help!!!

hi there, we have booked our wedding for 28 june 07 and we have all booked our holiday aswell. All members of the family that will be attending have booked so that we will all be on the same plane and sitting together as we have pre booked the seats.
I just thought it would be much easier for us all to book as soon as we had booked the wedding.
Hope this helps

have they allowed you to book your wedding for june next year?

they have pencilled me in on the calendar but they said they cannot confirm the date until 12 months before (which is today by the way)!!

where are you having your ceremony and reception?

do you live in the uk?

are your family and friends staying in disney resorts?

sorry for all the questions! :Pinkbounc

hiya,
we have booked our wedding through whitesandweddings as they are based in the uk so its alot easier to communicate.
We have paid our deposit and it is all booked for disney swan.
We are travelling with travel city direct and staying at the enclave suites.
hope this helps, laura x

All our guests booked well over a year in advance, our wedding is September and they booked around May last year. Everyone is staying in Villas exept us. So at the moment we are few nights short on our room block, but i'm sure I will be OK.

I would go ahead and get everyone to book, as long as your flexable on your date i'm sure they would fit you in within a few days of your date. Chance are if your a weekday wedding wedding your going to get your date anyway.

Book now; you will get a better price. We booked october last year and the dates had only literally just been added to the database, the first time she checked they were only showing the week before we wanted to go, she tried again 30 mins later and the dates we wanted appeared :thumbsup2 we had a really good price, £12,000 (minus £1,700 for wedding) for 6 adults 5 children including tickets, car hire, upgrade to first class etc. We had a few other people decide that they would like to join us, they booked in March this year and it had gone up dramatically - 2 adults 3 children and it came to £6,000, same hotel without upgrading seats to first class! We are leaving in October so we booked a year out and i would strongly suggest this.

I've booked our wedding & holiday through Virgin and all my family and friends have already booked theirs too, virgin have put a link on all their reservations so they get my 10% FV discount and it also informs the hotel that we are all one party. We have requested the 1st/2nd May but in the unfortnate event we cannot get them dates it doesnt really matter as long as its in the two weeks we are all their for.

thanks for your advice

I may sound stupid but whats the 10%FV discount?

I have been looking into what is cheapest -

1. booking the flight on its own and using the disney discounted rooms (this way though, i dont think we can book the rooms till 8 months before)

or
2. booking a package with someone like virgin

what have you found best?

there will be quite a big group of us but virgin said they can only do a group discount if there are more than 10 adults doing EXACTLY the same itinerary which we may not be doing - some are staying for 1 week, some are doing a twin centre and we are flying on to the bahamas.

we are obviously trying to get as much discount as possible - any recommendations? :goodvibes

I would say book it yourself, I find Virgin overpriced for stay's at disney hotels. You room rate would make it a good deal to stay on site. You can book the rooms just after you have signed your contract, where are you having the reeption? If your an 8 month contract I don't think you will have your room block until then. If you are 12 months then you would be able to book the discounted rooms as soon as the contract is complete.

Go with which ever is cheapest.

Hi

FV is known as Frequent Virgin, when you book your 3rd holiday with them you are entitled to join and get 10% off your holiday. People have their own decisions on if to book direct or through a package but if your family etc are planning to stay in Disney I would definately not book this through Virgin as it is expensive, my family etc are staying in Lake Buena Vista, we stayed in the hotel last time and cannot fault it, you propably would find that the hotels outside disney are much more value for money, I have stayed in the All Stars Resort and would never again, I thought it was far too small and very basic for what is cost. Obviously we are having to stay in Disney this time for the 5 nights but my family and friends will still stay in LBV.
